The present disclosure relates to a plurality of light-emitting materials, an organic electroluminescent compound, and an organic electroluminescent device comprising the same. By comprising the organic electroluminescent compound or a specific combination of compounds according to the present disclosure as a host material and/or a dopant material, it is possible to provide an organic electroluminescent device having improved driving voltage, luminous efficiency and/or lifetime properties compared to conventional organic electroluminescent devices.

Plurality of light-emitting materials, organic electroluminescent compound, and organic electroluminescent device comprising the same

There is provided an electroactive system for forming an electroactive layer. The system includes: (a) a first electroactive material; (b) a facilitation additive; and (c) a first liquid medium. The facilitation additive is present during baking in an amount sufficient to enable the electroactive layer made therefrom to effectively resist mixing with a second liquid medium applied thereover after the electroactive system is deposited and baked at a temperature less than 350&#xb0; C. for a predetermined time.

An electroluminescent device comprises a cathode, an anode, and has therebetween a light emitting layer (LEL), the device further containing an electron transport layer (ETL) comprising an anthracene compound on the cathode side of the LEL and an organic electron injection layer (EIL) between the ETL and the cathode comprising a phenanthroline compound, wherein the thickness of the EIL and LEL are such that the ratio of the thickness of the EIL to LEL is greater than 0.125.

The invention provides an electronic device including an anode and a cathode, between which there are at least two organic phototransducing units where the units are separated by an intermediate connecting region which comprises in sequence: an organic p-type layer, an intermediate layer in direct contact with the organic p-type layer and including a compound that has a LUMO more negative than &#x2212;3.0 eV and is different from the organic compound in the organic p-type layer, and an n-type doped organic layer in direct contact with the intermediate layer and including an electron transport material as a host and an organic n-dopant with a HOMO less negative than &#x2212;4.5 eV. In one embodiment, the electronic device is a tandem OLED.

An OLED device including an anode, a hole transporting layer (HTL), a light-emitting layer (LEL) comprising a host molecule and a light-emitting molecule, an electron transporting layer (ETL) and an cathode and wherein: (i) the HTL comprises a hole transporting material (HTM) having an oxidation potential that is at least 0.2 V less positive than the oxidation potential of the predominant material in the ETL and does not contain any bonds having an energy less than 105 kcal/mol; and (ii) the ETL comprises an electron transporting material (ETM) having a reduction potential (RP) relative to the reduction potential of the predominant material in the HTL (RP) that meets the requirement of RP&#x3e;(RP&#x2212;0.05). The OLED Device provides improvements in features including efficiency.

An OLED device comprises a cathode, an anode, and a light-emitting layer therebetween, and additionally comprises a layer between the cathode and the light-emitting layer including a compound comprising one and only one anthracene nucleus bearing no more than two phenanthroline-containing substituents wherein said anthracene nucleus is substituted in the 2-, 3-, 6-, or 7-position with a phenanthroline-containing substituent. When such materials are included in a layer, such as an electron-transporting layer, that provide both desirable electroluminescent properties as well as good device stability.
