A gold alloy may contain, by weight, between 73% and 77% of gold, between 5% and 11% of silver, between 1% and 7% of palladium, and between 10% and 18% of copper. The gold alloy may include iridium, rhenium, and/or ruthenium in up to 0.05 wt. %. The gold alloy may have an a* value in a range of from 3 to 9, and a b* value in a range of from 12 to 18, in CIELAB color space. A timepiece, piece of jewelry, or gemstone jewelry, may be made of such a gold alloy.

A nickel-free and cobalt-free platinum alloy including, expressed by weight, from 95.0% to 96.0% of Pt, from 0.5% to 4.5% of Ir, from 0.01% to 2% of Au, from 0 to 2% of Ge, and from 0 to 1% of at least one of the alloying elements Ru, Rh, Pd, Sn, Ga, Re, the respective percentages of all of the elements of the alloy adding up to 100%.

A nickel-free white gold alloy comprises, expressed by weight, in addition to between 75% and 76% Au and between 5% and 14% Pd, between 7% and 17% of Cu, the proportion of Cu being approximately inversely proportional to that of Pd, and the balance being formed by at least one of the elements Ir, In, Ag, Zn, Ga, Re, Zr, Nb, Si, Ta and Ti.
