A multiband antenna feed, an antenna incorporating the multiband antenna feed and a method are disclosed. An apparatus, comprises: a first port which may be configured to convey a first signal at a first frequency. A second port may configured to convey a second signal at a second frequency. The second frequency may be higher than the first frequency. A third port may be configured to convey the first signal and the second signal with a feed for a multiband antenna. The third port may have an inner waveguide and a coaxial waveguide. A first network may couple the first port with the coaxial waveguide and may be configured to propagate the first signal between the first port and the coaxial waveguide. A second network may couple the second port with the inner waveguide and may be configured to propagate the second signal between the second port and the inner waveguide.

Apparatus for dual-band antenna and communications tower comprising such apparatus are provided. The apparatus comprises a first part () comprising first and second propagation paths configured to selectively propagate signals of a first frequency with either a first polarization state or a second polarization state, a transition part () rotatable between first and second transition positions to selectively propagate signals of a second frequency along the second signal path with the first polarisation state when in the first transition position and with the second polarisation state when in the second transition position and a rotator part rotatable between first and second rotator positions. Wherein, the rotator part is configured to orientate the polarisation of signals in the second signal path in order to couple the second signal path to an interface, and allow propagation of signals in the first signal path in either the first or second rotator positions.

Multi-band radio-frequency (RF) antenna system

A dual-reflector antenna comprises a main reflector traversed by a feed source and a sub-reflector. The sub-reflector comprises a dielectric body extending between a first end that is small in diameter and a second end that is greater in diameter, the small-diameter end being connected to the end of the feed source constituted by a metal tube filled with a dielectric material. The end of the feed source connected to the sub-reflector comprises a housing, having an inner depth and inner diameter, built into the dielectric material. The small-diameter end of the sub-reflector comprises an inner portion having a substantially cylindrical shape, able to fit into the housing, having an outer length and outer diameter. The outer length and outer diameter of the small-diameter end of the sub-reflector are respectively less than the inner depth and inner diameter of the feed source, so as to form a space between the inner portion of the sub-reflector and the dielectric wall of the housing.

Dual-reflector microwave antenna

A subreflector of a dual-reflector antenna comprises a first extremity comprising a convex inner surface, a second extremity adapted for coupling to the extremity of a waveguide, and a body extending between the first extremity and the second extremity. The body comprises a first dielectric part having a portion penetrating into the waveguide and a portion outside the waveguide, and a second metallic part comprising a first cylindrical portion, contiguous with the first extremity of the subreflector, whose diameter is greater than the portion outside the waveguide of the first dielectric part, and a second cylindrical portion, adjacent to the first cylindrical portion, extended by a conical portion that penetrates into the first dielectric part. The first cylindrical portion features a flat ring-shaped surface that forms an angle less than 90&#xb0; with the axis of the subreflector so as to face the primary reflector.

Subreflector of a dual-reflector antenna

A radome for a concave-reflector antenna is fastened directly onto the reflector's edge. The inner surface of the radome comprises at least one absorbent part partially covering its surface area and disposed along its peripheral edge. The surface area of the radome covered by the absorbent part(s) is less than 15% of the total surface area. The radome may comprise two absorbent parts in diametrically opposite positions. Each absorbent part may have a substantially triangular shape, the base of the absorbent part being rounded along the radome's edge, and a portion of its surface area having been removed laterally from each side of the triangle in a circular arc cut-out.

The present invention provides an antenna comprising at least two arrays comprising respective pluralities of radiating elements in alignment, disposed in parallel planes, and metal screens interposed between the arrays, the antenna being characterized in that each metal screen comprises a bottom portion facing non-radiating portions of the radiating elements and comprising respective plane sheets disposed in planes parallel to the planes of the arrays, and top portions facing the radiating portions of the radiating elements and comprising panels, each forming an angle with the planes of the bottom portions. Preferably, each panel is oriented in alternation in one direction and in another direction on either side of the plane of the bottom portion. Advantageously, each panel comprises two wings connected to a central zone attached to the bottom portion of the screen.

An antenna feed comprises, aligned and centered on an axis OO', a waveguide having an inside diameter, a first end and a second end, a dielectric body having a portion inside the waveguide and a portion outside the waveguide, the outside portion comprising a section of frustoconical shape having an outside lateral surface of frustoconical shape with two ends, namely a large diameter end and a small diameter end, and a subreflector at the large diameter end of the frustoconical shape. The outside portion comprises, in addition to the frustoconical portion, a cylindrical portion whose diameter is greater than the inside diameter of the waveguide. The cylindrical portion is connected to the frustoconical portion at its small diameter end and the frustoconical outside lateral surface of the dielectric body is smooth.
