Lubricant for marine engine

A lubricant composition for 4-stroke or 2-stroke marine engine includes at least one lubricant base oil for marine engine, at least one olefin copolymer, at least one hydrogenated styrene-isoprene copolymer, at least one glycerol ester and at least one detergent, whose use promotes fuel economy and has good properties regarding engine cleanliness, in particular crankcase cleanliness.

Lubricant composition for marine engine

A cylinder lubricant having a BN determined according to the standard ASTM D-2896 greater than or equal to 15 milligrams of potash per gram of lubricant, including: one or more lubricant base oils for marine engines, at least one detergent based on alkali or alkaline-earth metals, overbased with metallic carbonate salts, at least one neutral detergent, one or more oil-soluble alkoxylated fatty amines, having a BN determined according to the standard ASTM D-2896 comprised between 100 and 600 milligrams of potash per gram, where the percentage by mass of alkoxylated fatty amines with respect to the total weight of lubricant is chosen such that the BN provided by these compounds represents a contribution comprised between 2 and 8 milligrams of potash per gram of lubricant, and where the BN provided by the metallic carbonate salts represents a contribution of at the most 65%.

Cylinder lubricant for a two-stroke marine engine

The present invention for a two-stroke marine engine, which can be used with both high-sulphur content fuel oils and low-sulphur content fuel oils. It relates to a cylinder lubricant having a BN determined according to the standard ASTM D-2896 greater than or equal to 40 milligrams of potash per gram of lubricant, comprising a lubricant base stock for marine engines and at least one overbased detergent based on alkali metals or alkaline-earth metals, characterized in that it also contains a quantity of 0.01% to 10% preferably 0.1% to 2% by weight relative to the total weight of the lubricant, of one or more (A) compounds chosen from the primary, secondary or tertiary monoalcohols the alkyl or alkylene chain of which is saturated or unsaturated, linear or branched and comprises at least 12 carbon atoms.
