A dispensing assembly for a laundry appliance includes a cabinet defining a cartridge port. A dispensing device is coupled to the cabinet and extends into the cartridge port. A dispensing cartridge is selectively received by the cartridge port. The dispensing cartridge selectively engages the dispensing device when in an installed position within the cartridge port. The dispensing cartridge includes a nesting portion configured to house a first laundry chemistry. An insert portion is configured to house a second laundry chemistry. The nesting portion selectively receives the insert portion.

Dispensing assembly for appliance

A cartridge for a laundry appliance includes an outer housing having an interior chamber therein. The outer housing includes a primary axis and a secondary axis that is perpendicular to the primary axis. A pump is contained within the outer housing that selectively delivers a laundry chemistry from the interior chamber to a dispensing outlet of the outer housing. The dispensing outlet is defined within a contoured edge of the outer housing and orients the dispensing outlet at an oblique angle with respect to the primary and secondary axes. A rotational drive is operated by an external actuator. The rotational drive is positioned within the outer housing and in operable communication with the pump. The rotational drive aligns with a drive aperture defined within a wall of the outer housing for receiving the external actuator.

A dish treating appliance for treating dishes according to an automatic cycle of operation and including a tub at least partially defining a treating chamber, multiple sprayers emitting a liquid into the treating chamber, and a diverter valve having a rotatable valve body, which can be rotated to discrete rotational positions to selectively fluidly couple with the multiple sprayers. A rotary drive is located exteriorly of the tub and comprises a housing defining an interior with a liquid leak reservoir, a motor carried by the housing, an output shaft rotationally driven by the motor, extending through the housing and the tub, and operably coupled to the valve body, and a printed circuit board (PCB) located within the housing.

A water inlet assembly for mounting adjacent an opening provided in a tub of an automatic dishwasher wherein the tub defines a cavity having a volume for washing dishes. The water inlet assembly includes a housing forming a venting chamber and having an outlet opening mounted in sealed relationship about the opening provided in the tub. The venting chamber has a vent opening which may be located above the outlet opening. The housing further includes an inlet nozzle for receiving wash liquid and a conduit for guiding liquid from the inlet nozzle to the venting chamber from which wash liquid can flow through the outlet opening into the tub. A water trap is formed into the housing and is located along the conduit. The conduit has a siphon opening located upstream of the water trap. A pressure actuated valve is positioned to block the passage of air from the tub cavity through the venting chamber and out the vent opening in a closed state and to allow the passage of air from the tub cavity through the venting chamber and out the vent opening in an open state. The pressure actuated valve moves from the closed to the open state in response to an excess of air pressure in the tub cavity.
