An inside corner pull elbow fitting comprising a body having a first hub dimensioned for receipt of an electrical conduit, a second hub dimensioned for receipt of an electrical conduit, and an elbow portion positioned between said first and second hubs. The elbow portion has a wall defining a hollow interior that extends between the hubs, each end of the elbow portion having extension, the elbow portion including a cutout region positioned between said first and second ends and in an inner curved region of the elbow portion, the cutout region having a perimeter defining an opening to the hollow interior of the elbow portion; and a cover having a surface substantially corresponding to the perimeter defining the opening of the elbow portion, the cover further having tabs depending from first and second ends of the cover, the tabs dimensioned to be resiliently secured to the extensions.

A connector assembly having a slot aperture retainer ring for securing a connector body to an electrical box, with a slot adapted to receive a common tool, such as a screwdriver, to facilitate removal of the retainer ring from inside the electrical box. In one embodiment, the slot of the retainer ring is aligned generally perpendicular to a center axis of the retainer ring. One or more inwardly bent preload fingers or tabs engage an outer surface of the connector body upon assembly. A connector assembly utilizing a shoulder structure to capture a wall portion of an electrical box is described wherein the wall portion is held between the shoulder structure and a stop flange with the shoulder structure resisting removal of the connector assembly from the electrical box.

An electrical connector assembly having improved conductivity and continuity. A snap in or push in electrical connector having a zinc body and spring steel components plated with high conductivity metal, such as tin, providing a reduced voltage drop across the attached electrical connector. In an embodiment, a connector assembly has a connector body having opposed end openings provided with an outer surface that slopes downwardly toward the outlet opening. The inlet opening having placed therein cable retainer inserts. A sloping or frustro-conical, snap fit, snap in, or push in outer retaining ring with locking tangs is provided for snap locking the outlet end portion of the connector body to an electrical box or panel. Improved conductivity or continuity is obtained and a good electrical ground is formed between the electrical box and connector assembly.

A connector assembly including a connector body with a locking cam defined on an external surface. In a method of use the locking cam cooperates with a perimeter of a knock-out hole into which the connector is to be inserted. During insertion of the connector body the locking cam engages the knock-out hole and deforms a retainer ring so as to permit further insertion. Once the connector body is fully seated, the locking cam cooperates with a locking tang on the retainer ring to hold the connector assembly together.

An electrical connector assembly having a snap fit adaptor with bent grounding tangs providing improved electrical contact and enhanced grounding. An electrical connector assembly is adapted to snap fit within a knockout hole of an electrical box or panel for making electrical connections. A snap fit adaptor placed on the outlet end of a connector body has a plurality of locking tangs and grounding tangs. The locking tangs hold the connector assembly onto the electrical box, and a distal trailing edge of the grounding tangs extends into the knockout hole in the electrical box and are curved or shaped to provide a large surface area contact improving electrical continuity and providing enhanced electrical grounding. A safer more reliable electrical grounding connecting is made easily and without tools.

This disclosure is directed to electrical connectors that include a connector body having an inlet end opening and an outlet end portion wherein the outlet end portion is provided with an outer surface that slopes downwardly toward the outlet opening and having a complementary sloping or frustro-conical, snap fit, retaining ring with locking tangs and grounding tangs for snap locking the outlet end portion to an electric box or enclosure, and including an embodiment having a cable strap retainer hingedly connected to an associated cable support saddle to render the cable strap retainer readily detachable from the saddle in a manner that prohibits any unintentional detachment of the strap therefrom when rotated between a cable clamping and unclamping position suitable for securing thereto either a non-metallic cable or an armored or metal clad cable, wire conductor and the like.

An electrical fitting in the form of a connector or coupler for connecting an electric metal tube to an electrical box or panel or to one another. The fitting includes a body having an inlet end portion, an outlet end portion and a bore extending therethrough. An unidirectional locking device is disposed in an outermost chamber and a sealing washer disposed in an intermediate chamber. A split ring having an angularly bent leading end is provided with a series of offset circumferentially spaced unidirectional gripping tangs. The locking device may also be provided with a series of tube support tangs at the trailing end. Also, the locking device includes a tang forming an electrical bonding or ground between tubes, locking device and connector body.

Various embodiments of an electrical connector assembly that includes a connector body having an inlet end portion and an outlet end portion. The outlet end portion is held in a knock out hole of an electric box and the inlet end portion is provided with an adjacent opening for receiving a wire conductor retainer in the form of a flat spring configured to be readily connected to an external portion of a connector body for ease of manufacture and assembly. An electric conductor can be unidirectionally inserted in the inlet end portion and secured thereto so as to prohibit any unintentional separation from the connector body, all without the need of any tools.

This disclosure is directed to various embodiments of an electrical connector assembly that includes a connector body having an inlet end portion and an outlet end portion. The outlet end portion has an associated locking member whereby it can be readily attached to a knock out hole of an electric box and the inlet end portion is provided with a wire conductor retainer in the form of a flat spring configured to be readily connected to an external portion of a connector body for ease of manufacture and assembly, and which is configured to extend through an opening formed in the inlet end portion whereby an electric conductor can be unidirectionally inserted in the inlet end portion and secured thereto so as to prohibit any unintentional separation from the connector body, all without the need of any extraneous tools.

An electrical connection assembly for securing electrical metal conduit to a junction box or the like, having a connection body with an inlet end portion for receiving a conduit wherein the inlet end includes a first portion sized to snugly receive an end portion of a conduit and a second portion having an internal surface that diverges outwardly toward the opening of the inlet end portion. A unitary sealing and compression ring is fitted onto the end portion of a conduit, and is positioned thereon so that the sealing ring portion of the unitary ring is received within the inlet end portion. A fastening nut secures the conduit to the inlet portion by causing the sealing ring portion to form a water or fluid tight seal between the connector body and the associated conduit and forming a mechanically sound connection between the connector body and the conduit. The unitary sealing and compression ring formed of metal insures positive electrical grounding of the assembled connection.

An electric connector assembly made up of a connector body having an inlet end portion, an outlet end portion, and a bore communicating the inlet end portion to the outlet end portion; and having a frustro-conical retaining ring mounted on the outlet end portion wherein the retainer ring includes locking tangs and one or more grounding tangs wherein the free end of the grounding tang defines the trailing end of the retainer ring. The locking tangs effect a snap-fit locking arrangement while the grounding tang effects an electrical grounding of the connector assembly, when connected to a knock-out hole of an electric box or panel. Various embodiments are disclosed wherein the grounding tang is formed so as to enhance the electrical grounding effect between the connector assembly and the electric box or panel connected thereto. An embodiment of the invention also provides for an installation tool to engage the retainer ring so as to facilitate the securing of the connector assembly to a knock-out hole of an electric box or panel.
