The techniques described herein relate to methods, apparatus, and computer readable media configured to manage devices that are part of a telecommunications system. An image of a device that is part of a telecommunications system is obtained and transmitted to a first remote device. Data indicative of device-specific information for the device is received from the first remote device in response to transmitting the image, wherein the device-specific information comprises information associated with the telecommunications system. The device-specific information is displayed for the purpose selected from the group consisting of performing a management function associated with the device and monitoring a performance parameter associated with the device. Data indicative of a selection of the management function is received and transmitted to a second remote device.

A communications adaptor comprising an adaptor first port; an adaptor second port; an adaptor third port; and a processor. The adaptor first port is configured to connect to an analog communications line. The adaptor second port is configured to connect to a data network. Method and apparatus for voice traffic management in a data network includes establishing a default maximum bandwidth setting at a LAN egress port when voice-type traffic is not present in a LAN portion of the data network, detecting voice-type traffic, reducing the bandwidth setting at the LAN egress port to effect a change in a rate of non voice type traffic and monitoring non voice type traffic and voice quality statistics to determine if the rate of non voice type traffic entering the data network has changed. Once the desired change has occurred, performing a linear increase of the bandwidth setting at the LAN egress port to a first value while monitoring voice quality statistics, determining if voice quality has degraded during increase of the bandwidth setting and repeating the last two steps if voice quality has not degraded.

In some embodiments, a method for routing API calls may include receiving a first message including an API call and a partner API key used to authenticate the partner entity on the TSP network to access a partner API layer disposed on the TSP network, extracting the partner API key from the first message, performing an authentication process to authenticate an identity of the partner entity using at least the extracted partner API key, and routing the first message based on results of the authentication process. The system comprises a computer for generating a DNS request for a particular domain, and one or more VoIP devices for receiving the DNS request and sending a DNS response to the computer with a local network address for the VoIP device.

In some embodiments, the method may establishing a communication connection to a wireless access point, determining one or more security characteristics of the wireless access point, selecting a security policy to apply to the wireless device based on the determined one or more security characteristics of the wireless access point, adjusting one or more communication parameters of the wireless device based on the selected security policy, and communicating with the wireless access point using the adjusted communication parameters.
