An access control system controls access to a shared resource for various functional circuits. The access control system can include a comparison circuit, a processing circuit, and a selection circuit. The comparison circuit receives identification data associated with a functional circuit based on a transaction initiated by the functional circuit, and compares the identification data and reference data to generate a select signal. The processing circuit receives error data and response data outputted by the shared resource based on an execution of the transaction, and generates another response data. The selection circuit selects and outputs, based on the select signal, one of the response data outputted by the shared resource and the response data generated by the processing circuit as a transaction response that is to be provided to the functional circuit.

System and method for controlling access to shared resource in system-on-chips

A system-on-chip (SoC) includes a fuse circuit and decoding circuitry. The fuse circuit includes functional fuses, control fuses utilized as the functional fuses, and fuses configured to store override data that indicates an association between the functional fuses and the control fuses utilized as the functional fuses. The decoding circuitry is configured to output configuration data associated with a configuration of the fuse circuit based on the override data and an initial configuration of the fuse circuit. In such a scenario, functional operations of the SoC are executed based on the configuration data. Alternatively, the decoding circuitry is configured to output a set of functional data based on the override data and various functional data stored in the functional fuses and the control fuses utilized as the functional fuses. In such a scenario, the functional operations are executed based on the outputted set of functional data.

Utilization of control fuses for functional operations in system-on-chips

An EDA tool for verifying timing constraints of an integrated circuit (IC) design includes a processor and a memory that stores register transfer level (RTL) code of the IC design and a timing constraint file. The processor generates a netlist based on the RTL code, and identifies asynchronous clock paths, false paths and multi-cycle paths in the netlist using the timing constraint file. The processor then inserts buffer cells for logic cells in the netlist. The processor also inserts buffer cells in the asynchronous clock paths, false paths, and multi-cycle paths. The processor delay annotates logic cells and clock delay cells with a zero delay value and the buffer cells with known delay values. The processor generates a modeled standard delay format (SDF) file and performs a gate level simulation (GLS) using the modeled SDF file.
