A clipping system includes an adapter and a clip. The proximal portion of the adapter extends along a first longitudinal axis. The distal portion of the adapter includes a cylinder extending along a second longitudinal axis that extends substantially perpendicular relative to the first axis. The clip includes first and second pairs of arms and first and second jaws. Proximal ends of the first arms are connected via a first hinge. Proximal ends of the second arms are connected via a second hinge. The first jaw extends between distal ends of a first one of the first arms and a first one of the second arms. The second jaw extends between distal ends of a second one of the first arms and a second one of the second arms so that the jaws are movable relative to one another between open and closed configurations.

Repositionable clip with symmetric open force

A medical device that includes a handle, a shaft extending distally from the handle, an end effector extending distally from the shaft, a first actuator movably coupled to the handle, and a second actuator movably coupled to the handle. The first actuator is configured to (1) articulate the shaft in response to translating the first actuator in a first direction relative to the handle and the second actuator, and (2) actuate the end effector in response to translating the first actuator in a second direction relative to the handle and the second actuator. The second actuator is configured to (1) articulate the shaft in response to translating the second actuator in the first direction relative to the handle and the first actuator, and (2) actuate the end effector in response to translating the second actuator in the second direction relative to the handle and the first actuator.

Medical articulation devices and methods of using the same

A medical assembly that includes a medical device including a handle having an actuator, a shaft extending distally from the handle, and a sensor at a distal end of the shaft. The distal end of the shaft is coupled to the actuator by a wire extending through the shaft, and the sensor is configured to measure data indicative of the distal end of the shaft moving from a first position to a second position. The actuator is configured to articulate the distal end of the shaft based on the data measured by the sensor to move the distal end from the second position to the first position.

Control assemblies for medical devices and related methods of use

A system includes a clip, a first control member, and an adapter including a channel extending from a proximal end to a distal end. The clip includes a base portion mounted over a periphery of the adapter and arms extending distally from the portion. The arms are movable relative to one another between insertion and initial deployed configurations. The first member is releasably coupled to the portion and is movably connected to the adapter so that a longitudinal movement of the first member relative to the adapter moves the clip between the insertion configuration, the initial deployed configuration, and a review configuration. The first member is operable to retract the clip proximally over the adapter toward the insertion configuration so that the arms is forced open as the clip is retracted over the adapter freeing the clip from tissue on which it had been clipped.

Repositionable over the scope clip with compliant mechanism

A clipping system includes a clip, extending and control members and an endcap mounted on an insertion device. A planar body of the clip includes first and second cut-outs defining fingers. The control members slide within extending members to releasably couple to the clip so that movement the control members moves the clip between an insertion configuration, an initial deployed configuration and a review configuration in which the end cap is withdrawn proximally away from the clip to enhance visual observation of the clip. The control member is operable to retract the clip proximally over the end cap toward the insertion configuration so that the fingers are forced open as the clip is retracted over the end cap, freeing the clip from tissue on which it had been clipped to reposition the clip if necessary.

Repositionable over-the-scope clip with cancer seeding prevention in full tissue resection

A medical device system includes an insertion device and a medical device. The insertion device includes an insertion device handle, including a port on a handle body. The insertion device also includes an insertion device shaft extending from the insertion device handle. The insertion device shaft includes a working channel connected to the port. The medical device includes a medical device handle, including a movable handle portion and a stationary handle portion. The movable handle portion includes a ball portion movably positioned within a cavity in the stationary handle portion. The medical device also includes a medical device shaft. The medical device shaft is configured to be delivered through the port in the insertion device handle and through the working channel in the insertion device shaft. Movement of the movable handle portion relative to the stationary handle portion controls movement of a distal portion of the medical device shaft.

A clipping system includes an adapter, a clip and an extending member. The adapter mounted over an insertion device. The clip mounted over the adapter and includes first and second jaws connected to one another such that the jaws are movable between an insertion configuration and an initial deployed configuration. The first jaw includes a keyhole opening. The member coupled to the clip and adapter. The member includes a distal end releasably engaging the opening. The distal end has a width smaller than a width of a first portion of the opening and larger than a second portion of the opening so that, when a portion of the member proximal of the distal end is received within the second portion, the adapter is released from the clip while the member remains coupled to the clip. The member forces the clip open as the clip retracts over the adapter.

Repositionable over the scope clip

A medical device that includes a handle including a plurality of actuators. The handle defines a longitudinal axis extending through a distal end of the handle. The device includes a shaft extending from the handle and an end effector at a distal end of the shaft. A first actuator of the plurality of actuators is configured to actuate the end effector in response to translation of the first actuator relative to the handle along an axis parallel to the longitudinal axis. A second actuator of the plurality of actuators is configured to deflect the end effector relative to the shaft in response to pivoting the second actuator about an axis transverse to the longitudinal axis. A third actuator of the plurality of actuators is configured to rotate the end effector relative to the shaft in response to rotation of the third actuator relative to the handle about the longitudinal axis.

Medical device handle assemblies and methods of using the same

The medical device includes a handle, an end effector, and a tubular section extending between the handle and the end effector. The end effector is configured to be rotated about a first axis extending through the tubular section without rotating the tubular section. A clipping system for treating tissue including an adapter, a clip, an extending member and a control wire. The adapter couplable to an insertion device via steering members. The steering members extend alongside the insertion device and connect to the adapter to steer the adapter between a first position and a second position. The clip mounted over the adapter. The clip includes first and second jaws connected to one another and movable between an insertion configuration and an initial deployed configuration. The extending member slidably received within one of the steering members. The control wire slidably received within the extending member and extends through the first jaw such that simultaneous longitudinal movement of the control wire and the extending member relative to the adapter moves the clip between the insertion configuration, the initial deployed configuration, and a review configuration in which the clip is separated from the adapter.

Steerable platform repositionable over the scope clip

An elongated tissue traction device adhered to target tissue and configured to lift the target tissue away from surrounding tissue. The tissue traction device may lift the target tissue as a surgical procedure is performed, such as resecting or cutting of the target tissue. The tissue traction device may be a bistable spring. The tissue traction device is in a first stable configuration when initially adhered to the target tissue. The tissue traction device may be shifted (e.g., actuated) into the second configuration, such as when the tissue is resected or cut around the target tissue to which the tissue traction device is adhered. In the second stable configuration, the tissue traction device curls and lifts the target tissue from the surrounding tissue.

A device includes a catheter extending longitudinally from a proximal end to a distal end and including a lumen and a grasper. The grasper includes jaws connected such that the jaws are movable between an open configuration and a closed configuration. Also, the device includes a control member connected to the grasper so that a longitudinal movement of the member relative to the catheter moves the grasper between the configurations and a proximal interface including a piston connected to the proximal end so that, when the grasper is moved toward the closed configuration, the piston applies a negative pressure through the catheter to draw a separated portion of thrombus proximally therethrough.

A system for treating tissue includes a cap mounted over a distal end of an endoscope, a clip mountable over the cap and including first and second jaws movably connected to one another between an insertion configuration, in which the first and second jaws extend over the cap to receive a target tissue therebetween, a review configuration, in which at least a portion of the clip extends into a field of view of the optical system of an endoscope, and a deployed configuration in which the clip is moved distally off of the cap so that the first and second jaws are drawn toward one another. A control element is configured so that movement proximally through the cap via a first distance moves the clip from the insertion configuration to the review configuration and a second distance moves the clip from the review configuration to the deployed configuration.
