A chemical vapour deposition process for preparing a coated glass substrate, said process comprising at least the following steps in sequence: a) providing a glass substrate having a surface, b) depositing a layer based on SiCO and/or SiNO on the surface of the glass substrate, c) exposing the layer based on SiCO and/or SiNO to a gaseous mixture (i) comprising water, and d) subsequently depositing a layer based on a TCO over the layer based on SiCO and/or SiNO.

Process for preparing a coated glass substrate

A method for coating glass containers provides improved tensile strength (hence improved resistance to internal pressure). The method lends itself in particular to implementation as part of a continuous production process by utilising residual heat from the bottle casting step. The use of residual heat from an existing process offer considerable environmental benefits.

Method of increasing the resistance to internal pressure of a glass container

A process for depositing an inorganic material on a substrate, the process comprising, providing a substrate having a surface, providing a precursor mixture comprising a metal sulfonate, and delivering the precursor mixture to the surface of the substrate, wherein the surface of the substrate is at a substrate temperature of above 450&#xb0; C. and is sufficient to effect decomposition of the metal sulfonate. The inorganic material may include a metal or a metal oxide. The preferred metal sulfonate is metal triflate.
