A system designed to separate moisture and waste water particulates from air flow for use in connection with compact vacuum toilet systems. There is provided a separator that both raises the position of the vent port, as well as provides a series of baffles to block and/or to collect and help route any collected moisture. The resulting moisture removal from the compact vacuum toilet system can help improve reliability and function of the system.

Air / waste water separator

The present application generally relates to aircraft water management. The disclosed system provides an initial step of verifying the amount of available water on board and dynamically regulating water usage during flight based on projections and comparisons between projections and actual usage. The system implements a series of water conservation strategies modeled on historical data, using a control system to manage water usage.

Water control system for aircraft

A vacuum generator seal can comprise an upstream annular cavity adjacent to the upstream side of the bearing, a downstream annular cavity adjacent to the downstream side of the bearing, and at least one drain slot positioned on the upstream side of the bearing housing. The vacuum generator seal can include a retainer that at least partially defines the upstream annular cavity. The retainer may be in contact with the bearing housing and may have a tight clearance with the impeller hub. The retainer along with a supply of grease packed within the annular cavities can seal the bearing; and the drain slot can direct water and waste away from the bearing and towards the scroll.

Vacuum generator seal

A containment system comprises at least one passage obstructer extending from a housing inlet cover through a diffuser passage and into a housing back cover. The passage obstructer includes a fastener portion, such as a bolt, and an obstructing portion extending from and integral to a shaft of the fastener portion. The diameter of the obstructing portion is less than the diameter of the shaft, allowing the obstructing portion to bend upon impact with a burst impeller fragment.
