Implementations for composite display cover are described and provide improved protection and durability to device displays as compared with conventional display protection technologies. The described composite display cover, for instance, utilizes an ultra-thin glass layer with a polymer film applied directly to the glass layer and a hard coat applied to the polymer film. The polymer film, for instance, is applied to the glass layer without an adhesive. Further, the composite display cover can be attached to a display, such as via an adhesive layer that adheres the glass layer to a surface of the display.

For a flexible, optically clear display stack, an adhesive, a system, and a method are provided. The adhesive is formed of polymer chains, at least a portion of which are cross-linked, a non-volatile diluent having a volume % in the range of between about 40 and 95, and is characterized with a low shear modulus of less than 10 kPa. The system is formed by at least first and second optically clear thin films with the adhesive disposed between the first and second thin films. The method includes the steps to form the system.

Flexible, optically clear, composite structures for foldable displays in mobile devices

In implementations of anti-static lens coatings, a device lens comprises an anti-static material disposed on an exterior of the device lens. A hard coat material is disposed as a layer over the anti-static material, where the anti-static material is effective to prevent static build-up on the layer of the hard coat material. The anti-static material can include a first surface treatment disposed on the anti-static material, where the first surface treatment binds the anti-static material to the device lens. The anti-static material can also include a second surface treatment disposed on the anti-static material, where the second surface treatment binds the anti-static material to the hard coat material.

In implementations of device component exposure protection, a computing device includes device components enclosed within a housing. The device components are assembled within the housing and enclosed within the housing upon completion of assembly of the computing device. The computing device further includes a protective material contained within the housing, which fills void spaces around the device components. The protective material prevents exposure of the device components to external matter that the computing device is exposed to upon completion of the assembly.

A polysiloxane film comprises Si&#x2014;O bonds and has a thickness of 0.3 to 1.5 microns. Adjacent electrodes coated with the polysiloxane film have a leakage current of at most 0.01 mA at 10 V after contact with water. An electrode coated with the polysiloxane film has a contact resistance of at least 0.01 ohms at 1.0 mm of pogo pin compression under a 1.0 N load. The polysiloxane film provides IPx7 protection from ingress of water.

A method of forming a polysiloxane film on a substrate comprises polymerizing a siloxane monomer in a reaction chamber containing the substrate. The polymerization is catalyzed by a 30-60 W radio frequency plasma, the pressure in the reaction chamber during the polymerization is 100-400 mTorr, the residence time of the siloxane monomer in the reaction chamber is 5-120 minutes, the siloxane monomer is heated to 30-200&#xb0; C. before entering the reaction chamber, and the polymerization is carried out at a temperature of 30-100&#xb0; C.
