A sole structure for an article of footwear can include auxetic openings and sipes. The auxetic openings and sipes may be applied in a regional manner to achieve different characteristics for the sole structure in the different regions.

Sole structures with regionally applied auxetic openings and siping

A sole structure that includes recessed portions. The recessed portions are arranged such that the sole structure has auxetic properties. In some embodiments, sipes extend to the recessed portions. Additionally, the sole structure may include a central portion having auxetic properties and a peripheral portion.

Sole structure having auxetic structures and sipes

An article of footwear may include a sole and a stability element. The sole may have a receiving channel extending from a sole bottom surface toward a sole top surface. The receiving channel may have a first groove at an outer perimeter of the receiving channel and a second groove at an inner perimeter of the receiving channel. The stability element may have a first tongue protruding from an outer perimeter of a body of the stability element and a second tongue protruding from an inner perimeter of the body of the stability element. In an exemplary aspect, the first groove of the receiving channel is configured to receive the first tongue of the stability element, and the second groove of the receiving channel is configured to receive the second tongue of the stability element as the stability element is maintained, at least in part, within the receiving channel.

Article of footwear for running and cycling

An article of footwear may include a sole structure with a plurality of sipes. The plurality of sipes may extend from the forefoot region to the heel region. Additionally, the plurality of sipes may extend across the sole structure from a medial edge toward the lateral side and from a lateral edge toward the medial side. Further, the sole structure may include longitudinal sipes that extend longitudinally along the sole structure.
