Disclosed herein is a sorbent composition including an adsorbent support; and a metal component comprising a transition metal, wherein the metal component is impregnated on a surface of the adsorbent support; and wherein the metal component effects the removal of sulfur and vanadium from a hydrocarbon fuel. Also disclosed herein is a sorbent composition comprising an adsorbent support, wherein a surface of the adsorbent support has been chemically modified to comprise functional groups; and wherein the adsorbent support effects the removal of sulfur and vanadium from a hydrocarbon fuel.

A method of regenerating adsorbent material includes providing a spent adsorbent material and contacting the adsorbent material with a solvent composition to facilitate removing oil and impurities from the spent solvent material.

Methods for regeneration of adsorbent material

Gas sensor device

A sensor package and method are described. The sensor package includes an enclosure, a diaphragm coupled to the enclosure. The diaphragm is configured to receive vibrations from an ambient environment. Further, the sensor package includes a pressure sensing element disposed inside the enclosure, and a pressure transfer medium disposed inside the enclosure and proximate the pressure sensing element, where the pressure transfer medium includes a fluid, and a plurality of filler particles suspended in the fluid. The filler particles serve to reduce a coefficient of thermal expansion of the pressure transfer medium.

Process for making a tetraaryloxymethane using a cupric alkoxide

A process for making bis(ether anhydrides) employs alkylamines having low melting temperatures thus allowing for novel intermediate process steps for preparing bis(ether anhydrides). The alkylamines have alkyl groups which contain at least three carbon atoms and have boiling temperatures in the range of 48 to 250.degree. C. at atmospheric pressure. As a result of using these amines, liquid alkylamines now can be employed in the imidization process step. The N-alkyl nitrophthalimides prepared from the recovered imidization product according to this invention can now be purified using liquid/liquid extraction or vacuum distillation. The alkyl nitrophthalimides prepared according to this invention provide for displacement reactions which now can be run at a high solids level. Likewise, the exchange reaction can be run at a higher solids level, and thus achieves an efficiency level which is higher than conventional processes.

Addition of phosphine ligands can produce high yields of tetraphenoxymethane, TPM, and diphenylcarbonate, DPC, in short reaction times and improved reaction rates by a copper-induced condensation of phenol and carbon disulfide, CS.sub.2. The copper(I) oxide utilization is significantly improved in reactions containing phosphine ligands, such that yields exceeding 100% tetraphenoxymethane are observed.
