A process for conversion of hydrocarbon feedstock into lighter olefins of Cto Ccarbons, the process comprising of cracking the hydrocarbon feedstock in a reactor in the presence of a catalyst. The catalyst for short contact time catalytic cracking process of heavy hydrocarbons having contact time less than 1 second to produce light olefins of Cto Ccarbon in the range of 40 to 60 wt % on fresh feed basis in a fluidized bed reactor which is concentric downflow reactor in presence of catalyst consisting of ultra-stable Y zeolite in the range of 5-10 wt %, 4 to 8 wt % of pentasil zeolite, 2.5-5 wt % of bottom selective material, 0.5-2 wt % of rare earth and 75-88 wt % of support material.

Production of high yields of light olefins from heavy hydrocarbons

The present invention provides a process of preparing a high coordination sulfated mixed metal oxide catalyst. The process comprises mixing specific ratios of alumina and zirconia mixtures at specific particle size limits which do not exceed 37 &#x3bc;m, in the presence of a combination of &#x3b1;-amino acids, i.e., non-polar side chains and basic side chains having molecular weight less than 250, nitric acid (HNO3) and sulfuric acid (H2SO4) at a pH range of 1.5 to 3.8 at temperatures below 30&#xb0; C. The catalysts have a high conversion towards hydrocarbon isomerization reaction while concurrently having crushing strength in range of 2.0 daN and 5.0 daN, allowing for efficient commercial application.

The present invention provides a process for a production of light olefins and aromatics from cracked light naphtha by selective cracking. The present invention thus provides a process for up grading cracked olefinic naphtha to high value petrochemical feed stocks. The present invention relates to preparation of catalyst for production of olefinic hydrocarbons by dehydrogenation of their corresponding paraffins, particularly propylene from propane, comprising a metal oxide or combination of metal oxides utilizing spent catalyst from Fluid Catalytic Cracking (FCC)/Resid Fluid Catalytic Cracking (RFCC) processes. The metal oxides are possibly from transition metal group, particularly from groups VB, VIB, VIII, and Lanthanide series, and at least one metal from alkali group. The present invention relates to a process for production of anisotropic coke from a hydrocarbon feedstock and a system for producing the same. More particularly, the present invention relates to a thermal cracking of heavy petroleum residue producing petroleum coke and lighter hydrocarbon products. The invented process utilizes a novel scheme for production of a premium quality coke from primarily, a clarified oil feedstock. Clarified oil from fluid catalytic cracking unit is routed through a process scheme comprising a separator column, hydrotreatment section and an aromatic extraction section to create an ad-mix of effluents which form the feedstock to a thermal cracking unit. Premium quality anisotropic coke is produced in the thermal cracker reactor drums under tailor made process conditions employing the said feedstock.

An apparatus for supplying additives into a coker drum includes an inlet for supplying a hydrocarbon feed stream into the coker drum and conduits along the circumference of walls of the coker drum. Each conduit has an injection nozzle to supply additives inside the coker drum. An injection control system controls the operation of the injection nozzles such that 1) one or more of the injection nozzles placed within a first distance above a vapour liquid interphase of the hydrocarbon feed stream are configured to supply the additives; and 2) supply of the additive discontinues from a particular injection nozzle when a distance between the injection nozzle and the vapour liquid interphase is less than or equal to a second distance. The apparatus optionally includes a mechanical drive system moving at least one of the conduits based on the level of the vapour liquid interphase in the coker drum.
