The present disclosure relates to a communication method and system for converging a 5th-Generation (5G) communication system for supporting higher data rates beyond a 4th-Generation (4G) system with a technology for Internet of Things (IoT). A method for deploying and sharing aerial cells in a massive machine type communication (mMTC) network includes forecasting data traffic across a plurality of mMTC network operators for each of a plurality of geographical areas. The method includes generating a forecasted plan based on the forecasted data traffic, and a hovering time of each of a plurality of aerial cells. The method includes deploying and sharing at least one aerial cell from the plurality of aerial cells between the plurality of mMTC network operators to provide coverage to at least one mMTC node in at least one geographical area of the plurality of geographical areas, based on the forecasted plan.

Methods and systems for sharing aerial assets amongst terrestrial network operators. Embodiments enable sharing of aerial assets amongst the terrestrial network operators and facilitate on-demand deployment of the aerial cells to improve coverage and capacity of the terrestrial network operators. Embodiments allow sharing of aerial assets such as aerial cell mount, backhaul, an aerial RAN, and aerial spectrum using sharing architectures. Embodiments provide a managing entity for forecasting data traffic pertaining to the terrestrial network operators and optimizing the deployment of the aerial cells, based on the forecasted data traffic, for enabling strategic deployment of the aerial cells. Embodiments ensure that the resources of the aerial cells are effectively utilized and the number of aerial cells required for enhancing the capacity of the terrestrial network operators is minimized.

A method for determining a number of paths between a Radio Frequency Integrated Circuit (RFIC) and a plurality of Subscriber Identity Modules (SIMS) of a User Equipment (UE), the plurality of SIMS including a primary SIM and a secondary SIM, the method including detecting, by the UE, at least one event associated with the secondary SIM, determining, by the UE, a tune away duration associated with the primary SIM based on the at least one event associated with the secondary SIM, determining, by the UE, an amount of resource loss by the primary SIM and a data throughput reduction of the primary SIM based on the tune away duration, and determining, by the UE, the number of paths between the RFIC and the plurality of SIMS based on the amount of resource loss by the primary SIM and the data throughput reduction of the primary SIM.

A method and a device are provided for categorizing a Stream Control Transmission Protocol (SCTP) receiver terminal () as a malicious SCTP receiver terminal, which generates spoofed optimistic SCTP selective acknowledgement (SACK) packet for exploiting a SCTP transmitter terminal as a flood source for Denial-of-Service attacks. The SCTP receiver terminal () generates data enriched SCTP SACK packets (). Each data enriched SCTP SACK packet comprises a cumulative payload essence of all successfully received data packets (). The SCTP transmitter terminal () performs a data enriched SACK validation in which it computes the cumulative payload essence of all successfully transmitted data packets (), and compares the computed value with the cumulative payload essence contained in the received data enriched SACK. The SCTP transmitter terminal detects a spoofed optimistic SACK packet if the comparison results in a difference.
