In one embodiment of an audio system, a transducer can be coupled to a passive acoustic directional amplifier to provide various benefits and improvements, including improvements to: speech intelligibility, signal-to-noise ratio, effective equivalent input noise, at-a-distance acoustic signal reception, and directional preference. In another embodiment, the shape of an interior surface of a passive acoustic directional amplifier is provided. In another embodiment, the material properties of an interior surface of a passive acoustic directional amplifier are provided.

Audio systems, devices, and methods

The invention relates to a modular positioning robotic system and method of use of the positioning system. In general, the modular positioning robotic system is comprised of a controller module, a positioning module and a base that can be either a stationary base or drive module. The positioning module also allows for additional flexibility by allowing for designs with multiple allowable adjustments that can be changed for a change in turn diameter, length, width and weight of a fixture and part combination.

Modular robotic workpiece holder and method for using same

A low leakage seal for separating two environments and contacting a component surface is provided. The seal includes a base and an annular rib. The annular rib is coupled to and extends from the base. The annular rib includes at least one contact surface configured to contact the component surface having a plurality of angularly cut radial grooves formed therein. The annular rib flexes and pressure energizes in the presence of a pressure differential between the two environments.

An air suspension grain cleaner system for efficiently cleaning grain in small applications. The air suspension grain cleaner system includes a frame, a cleaning chamber, a blower unit fluidly connected to a lower portion of the cleaning chamber, a grain inlet fluidly connected to the cleaning chamber, an exhaust chamber fluidly connected to an upper portion of the cleaning chamber, a cleaning damper within the cleaning chamber, and an exhaust damper within the exhaust chamber. A first control member is preferably positioned between the grain inlet and the cleaning chamber to prevent pressurized air from passing through the grain inlet.

Air suspension grain cleaner system

A paint injector for digital printing in which paint is deposited in metered amounts on a print medium comprises a wheel rotatable by a shaft of a motor, an idler disposed in a paint reservoir, and an endless cable disposed around the wheel and the idler. The motor is preferably computer controlled such that the rotation of the wheel and thus movement of the cable is selectively controlled. As the wheel is rotated, paint contained within the paint reservoir coats the cable and is thus drawn by the cable in front of an air stream. The air stream pulls the paint from the cable and carries it toward the print medium. By employing a plurality of such paint injectors into a single print head, each containing a different color of paint, and secured to a computer controlled, movable carriage positioned over the print medium, a digital image can be painted by the print head on the print medium.

Metering device for paint for digital printing

A method of digital printing in which paint is deposited in metered amounts on a print medium includes providing a paint injector which advances a paint coated strand through the path of a fluid stream. The fluid stream removes the paint from the exterior of the strand and deposits the paint onto the surface of a print medium. The advancement of the strand is selectively controlled to effectively meter the paint applied to the print medium and the position of the paint injector is controlled relative to the print medium to form an image thereon. The paint injector is comprised of a wheel rotatable by a shaft of a motor, an idler at least partially disposed in paint contained in a reservoir, and a wire disposed at least partially around the wheel and the idler.

Method of digital printing

A paint injector for digital printing in which paint is deposited in metered amounts on a print medium comprising a wheel rotatable by a shaft of a motor, an idler disposed in a paint reservoir, and a segment of wire disposed around the wheel and the idler. The motor is preferably computer controlled such that the rotation of the wheel and thus movement of the wire is selectively controlled. The air stream pulls the paint from the wire and carries it toward the print medium. By employing a plurality of such paint injectors into a single print head, each containing a different color of paint, and secured to a computer controlled, movable carriage positioned over the print medium, a digital image can be painted by the print head on the print medium.

A high-frequency dielectric ceramic compound having a perovskite-type crystal structure comprising a chemical composition substantially represented by the formula (Sr.sub.x Ca.sub.y Mn.sub.z)TiO.sub.3 in which 0.98&lt;x+y+z&lt;1.02, 0.34&lt;y&lt;0.4, and 0.0075&lt;z&lt;0.0015, and possessing a non-linear temperature coefficient is set forth. A method is presented for utilizing the compound to formulate a high-frequency dielectric material, the formulated material being particularly suitable for providing filters and related applications with a relatively low resonant frequency temperature coefficient.

High frequency dielectric composition

A high-frequency dielectric ceramic compound having a perovskite-type crystal structure comprising a chemical composition substantially represented by the formula (Sr.sub.x Ca.sub.y Mn.sub.z)TiO.sub.3 in which 0.98&lt;x+y+z&lt;1.02,0.34&lt;y&lt;0.4, and 0.0075&lt;z&lt;0.015, and possessing a non-linear temperature coefficient is set forth. A rotary expansible chamber device capable of functioning as a compressor or fluid motor is made up of a housing containing two or more parallel working chambers wherein each chamber contains an impeller. Adjacent impellers mate with each other and the housing in a fluid tight relationship with each impeller being made up of a multiplicity of risers of uniform cross section wherein each riser has one or more lobes and one or more adjacent wells. The risers along each impeller are axially offset from each other in a spiraling relationship with each impeller containing risers of at least two different heights. As the impellers rotate, a compressible gas is forced to travel axially along the working chambers through the riser wells. As the compressible gas travels through the working chambers it becomes sealed within adjacent wells along an impeller in the form of a stepped spiral gas volume. The sealed volume will change in size as it travels along the axial length of the impeller as a function of impeller rotation and change in riser height.

Rotary expansible chamber device

A method of making 1:1 complex salts of alpha amino acids and a metal ion which is either zinc or manganese, the method comprising reacting a water soluble zinc salt or manganese salt with an alpha amino acid in the presence of catalytically effective amount of ferric ion which aids in solubilizing the metal salt while simultaneously enhancing the formation of 1:1 complexes between the selected zinc or manganese salt and the desired alpha amino acid, particularly methionine.

Novel complex salts wherein the cation of the salt is a complex between iron and methionine. These salts are useful for nutritional supplementation to provide iron and methionine, both in a form which effectively increases the bioavailability of these compounds to animals.
