A nock may be used with an associated arrow and an associated crossbow. The nock may include a connection surface designed to connect the nock to the associated arrow and string guide impressions that may be designed to receive a bowstring to fire the associated arrow from the associated bow.

Method and apparatus for aligning arrow nocks

A bow assembly may include bow limbs on opposite sides and a cam rotatably supported to each bow limb. In some embodiments, the cams on each limb may be identical. In other embodiments, each cam may have a stud on each side of the cam that may engage with the bowstring. In yet other embodiments, each cam may have a channel on each side of the cam that may engage with the bowstring.

Interchangeable cam

An arrow nock may have at least two distinct string guide impressions each designed to receive a bowstring to fire an arrow from a bow. The nock may be operable when connected and aligned with the arrow to cause the bowstring to be received within at least one of the string guide impressions to fire the arrow. As it is received within the string guide impression, the bowstring may cause the arrow to rotate about its longitudinal axis.

A mid-limb cam crossbow system may comprise an elongated beam; a bow assembly engaged with the beam and having a pair of limbs; the pair of limbs being a first limb and a second limb, wherein the first limb has a proximate end and a distal end offset from the proximate end by a length L, and the second limb has a proximate end and a distal end offset from the proximate end by a length L. A first cam may be engaged with the first limb at a first cam mount point offset from the proximate end of the first limb by a length between (0.15)Land (0.75)L. A second cam may be engaged with the second limb at a second cam mount point offset from the proximate end of the second limb by a length between (0.15)Land (0.75)L

Mid-limb cam crossbow system

Provided is a crossbow cam comprising: a first cam axis; a second cam axis parallel to and offset from the first cam axis; a first power cord channel extending from the first surface along a first helical path having a first helix axis coincident with the first cam axis; and a second power cord channel extending from the second surface along a second helical path having a second helix axis coincident with first cam axis. The crossbow cam may further comprise a plate normal to the first cam axis, and defining a first plane therethrough, the plate having a first surface, a second surface opposite the first surface, and a perimeter surface extending between the first surface and the second surface, the perimeter surface defined by a bowstring channel extending around the first cam axis to define a path of varying radius about the first cam axis.

A nock insert may have an axis of elongation defining an axial direction and radial directions, a bowstring reception surface adapted to receive a bowstring, and an insert portion adapted for insertion into an arrow body. The nock insert may have one or more centering features having one or more spring tabs. Each spring tab may have a first end attached to the insert portion and a second free end extending axially from the first end and having a contact surface. The contact surfaces of each spring tab may be inherently biased outwardly in a radial direction and adapted to be radially deflected upon insertion of the insert portion into the arrow body.

Universal nock system

Provided is a crossbow comprising a bow having a riser having a first side and a second side opposite the first side, a first limb set engaged to the first side, a second limb set engaged to the second side, a first cam set engaged to the first limb set, a second cam set engaged to the second limb set; an adjustable pulley set having at least a first pulley and a second pulley, wherein the pulley set is operationally engaged with and selectably movable with respect to the first cam, or the second cam, or the riser; a first power cord set extending from the first cam set and at least partially around the first pulley; and a second power cord set extending from the second cam set and at least partially around the second pulley.

Power cord adjustment

An arrow nock and nock receiver assembly may include a nock and a nock receiver. The nock receiver may have at least two circumferentially spaced fingers. Engagement of a nock contact surface with a nock receiver contact surface may provide relative rotational alignment.

Nock and nock receiver

An arrow nock may have at least two distinct string guides each designed to receive a bowstring to fire an arrow from a bow. When the nock is connected to and aligned with the arrow, each distinct string guide may be designed, when receiving the bowstring, to rotate the arrow about its longitudinal axis with respect to the bow into one of a limited number of alignment orientations.

Provided is a mid-limb cam crossbow system comprising a beam; a bow assembly having a first bow limb of length L1 and second bow limb of length L2; a first cam engaged with the first bow limb at a point between (0.15)L1 and (0.75)L1 from the limb end; a second cam engaged with the second bow limb at a point between (0.15)L2 and (0.75)L2 from the limb end; a first power string engaged with the first cam and a region on the second bow limb greater than (0.75)L2 from the limb end; a second power string engaged with the second cam and a region on the first bow limb greater than (0.75)L1 from the limb end; and a bowstring engaged between the first cam and the second cam. The bow assembly may be configured in an uncocked configuration or a cocked configuration. L1 and L2 are between 15 centimeters and 65 centimeters.

Provided is a universal nock system comprising a first axis defining an axial direction and radial directions perpendicular to the axial direction; a nock having, a first side having a bowstring reception surface having concave channels, a second side opposite the first side, an axial contact surface, and an exterior surface; an insert portion extending from the second side of the nock, elongated along the first axis, and adapted for insertion into an associated arrow body, the insert portion having, a first end, a second end opposite the first end having a centering feature of the second end, the centering feature of the second end having contact surfaces, and a middle portion located along the first axis of elongation between the first end and the second end, the middle portion having a centering feature of the middle portion, the centering feature of the middle portion having contact surfaces.

An arrow nock and nock receiver assembly may include a nock and a nock receiver. The nock and nock receiver may attain relative longitudinal alignment by the engagement of a lip to a groove portion. The nock and nock receiver may attain relative longitudinal alignment by the engagement of a nock contact surface with a nock receiver contact surface.

An arrow nock may have three or more string guide impressions that are designed to receive a portion of a bowstring to fire an arrow. Each string guide impression may be defined by two circumferentially spaced walls separated by a floor. The walls and floors may be curvilinear in shape. The walls may have sides and a peak that are curvilinear. The walls may have widths that narrow toward the peak. The walls may have a radial length that is at least one fourth of the nock outside diameter.

An alignment tool may be used with an arrow and a nock. The alignment tool may include a tool body, a connection member, and an opening. The alignment tool and nock may be rotatable with respect to the arrow when the nock is connected to the arrow and the connection member is connected to the nock to align the nock with respect to the arrow by aligning the opening in the tool with an arrow vane with the vane visible through the opening in the tool.
