An electrical connector that can be compressed onto a composite transmission line without causing catastrophic damage to the non-metal/steel core. The electrical connector comprises a sleeve and a compression regulator that limits compression of the sleeve.

A vehicle safety system including a steering column, a keying member, and a squib. The steering column includes a first steering column section longitudinally slidably connected to a second steering column section. The keying member locates the first and second steering column sections at a fixed longitudinal position relative to each other. The squib is located relative to the keying member to exert a force on the keying member when the squib is initiated to thereby allow the first and second steering column sections to longitudinally slide relative to each other to shorten a length of the steering column.

A hand-held, battery-powered, hydraulically-actuated tool including a frame forming a tool longitudinal axis; a battery offset from the tool longitudinal axis; and located along the tool longitudinal axis a motor connected to the battery; a hydraulic fluid pump connected to the motor, such as by a transmission; a ram movably connected to the frame and adapted to be moved relative to the frame by hydraulic fluid pumped by the hydraulic fluid pump; and a working head adapted to be actuated by the ram. Hand-held, portable, battery-powered hydraulic tool

A preferred embodiment of a connector system includes a first electrical connector for mounting on a first substrate. The first electrical connector has a housing, and a contact mounted on the housing. The connector system also includes a second electrical connector for mounting on a second substrate. The second electrical connector includes a housing having a projection formed thereon, and a contact mounted on the housing. The second electrical connector is capable of mating with the first electrical connector so that the contact of the first electrical connector electrically contacts the contact of the second electrical connector and the projection contacts the first substrate so that at least a portion of the weight of the second electrical connector and the second substrate is transmitted to the first substrate by way of the projection.

Electrical connector with strain relief features

An electrical connector including a housing; electrical contacts connected to the housing; an outer shield connected to the housing; and at least one inner shield mounted along a portion of a front side of the housing. The inner shield includes a general C shaped substantially unvarying and uniform front end, and two legs extending reward from the front end. Each leg comprises a rear end with a portion which extends into the housing to attach the rear end to the housing. The front end of the inner shield is not directly mechanically attached to a front of the outer shield.
