A signal modification circuit is provided for use with multi-mode formatted data in accordance with a common mode component and a high frequency component formatted in accordance with a differential mode. The circuit includes an active module that modifies the high frequency component to generate a modified and enhanced high frequency component at an output thereof. A bypass line interconnects the inputs and outputs of the active module to bypass the active module. A low pass filter is provided along the bypass line blocking passage of the high frequency component along the bypass line.

A test fixture configured to receive an electrical connector is provided that includes a circuit board having a mounting area configured to be joined to an electrical connector. The circuit board has at least two layers. Contacts are provided on the circuit board, and traces extend from the contacts, wherein traces joined to adjacent contacts are distributed between the at least two layers.

Electrical connector test fixture

An electrical connector is provided that includes a housing and a circuit board provided therein. The circuit board has a body arranged along a circuit board plane, and the body includes a separable interface configured to directly join to a mating connector. A ground plane is arranged parallel to the circuit board plane. Signal contacts are provided on at least one side of the circuit board at the separable interface. Immediately adjacent signal contacts on a common side of the circuit board are configured to convey signals that are independent from one another.

Electrical connector with horizontal ground plane

A bifurcated conductive pad positioned on an electrical mating component, such as a circuit card, a contact portion of a cable assembly, or the like, having a main body and a mating edge. The bifurcated conductive pad receives a mating element having a built-up charge. The conductive pad comprises an initial contact portion and a final contact portion. The initial contact portion is configured to receive the mating element before the final contact portion receives the mating element, and wherein at least one of the initial and final contact portions is grounded so that the final contact portion receives a reduced amount of the built-up charge.

Charge-controlling system

A method and apparatus for managing and organizing wires in electrical data connectors is disclosed. The method provides the steps to optimally position signal wires in the region where the wires are transitioned between industry standard paired cable signal positions and industry standard attachment positions for a printed circuit board. The apparatus is a data connector forcing the signal wires to maintain optimal positions in the wire transition region and an associated circuit board that eliminates unnecessary unmatched or asymmetrical plated through holes and maintains signal transmission line symmetry.
