A method for controlling display device operation including a personal dashboard, the method including: detecting, by a display device, a command to present a personal dashboard based on one or more selections of a displayed control interface of the display device; presenting, by the display device, the personal dashboard corresponding to an active profile in response to the command, wherein the personal dashboard includes: a user image of the active profile, a background image of the active profile, and a content pane including a plurality of graphical elements associated with content titles, the content titles are selected based on the active profile; detecting, by the display device, an input command within the personal dashboard; and updating, by the display device, a presentation output of the display device based on the input command.

Methods and device operation for control including a personal dashboard

The present disclosure relates to digital television processes and systems. In one embodiment, a method for control of a digital television includes detecting a first command for presentation of a control interface for the digital television, and presenting the control interface, wherein the control interface is presented to include an expanded tab element configured to provide a plurality of selectable elements associated with a category of the expanded tab element, and a plurality of tab elements configured in a horizontal bar configuration on a display of the digital television, the expanded tab element presented within the horizontal bar. The method also includes detecting a command for the control interface to select one of the plurality of tab elements, and updating presentation of the control interface in response to the second command, wherein the digital television presents a selected tab element with expanded configuration and provides a plurality of graphical elements.

System and method for digital television operation and control interface presentation

The present disclosure relates to electronic devices, processes and systems for configuration of a display device. In one embodiment, a method for configuring operation of a display device includes receiving a configuration change from a control device, wherein the configuration change includes one or more changes for presentation of a overlay element for the display device and configuring settings for presentation of a overlay element, wherein the configuration change corresponds to a release of one or more features previously included and inaccessible to settings for presentation of the overlay element by the display device. The method also includes presenting an overlay element based on the configuring, wherein the overlay element is presented by the display device as an overlay to displayed image content. Overlay elements can include a navigation bar, an animation, a poster display, sticker display, and an application home screen.
