A supply or feed center for dry particulate material is modular in design with an application module and an exhaust module, along with optimal cabinet modules such as a pump cabinet module. The application module is partitioned into an application section and a utility section, both of which communicate with the exhaust module. An air diverter may be used to change relative air flow into the two sections, and in one embodiment is a swingable door. The exhaust module may include a self-contained exhaust system including after filters, motor, fan and final filters, or may share energy from a remote exhaust system. An inventive suction device is also provided to extract material from a hopper.

Apparatus and methods for aligning a powder spray canopy of a powder coating booth with a fan plenum assembly so that a powder collector can be quickly aligned and simultaneously sealed to both the powder spray canopy and the fan plenum. The invention also relates to an improved filter cartridge and filter cartridge mounting assembly which allows for quick and easy mounting and dismounting of filter cartridges to the powder collector.

A method and apparatus for isolating a portion of a powder delivery system from contamination includes an anti-contamination valve interposed between the discharge outlet of a sieve in the powder delivery system and the inlet to a powder feeder device communicating with one or more spray guns associated with a powder spray booth. The valve is movable between an open position in which powder discharged from the sieve is permitted to flow unobstructed to the powder feeder device, and a closed position which effectively seals or isolates that portion of the powder delivery system downstream from the sieve.

A twin headed, electrostatic powder coating gun assembly in a lightweight, hollow housing readily mounted on a programmable robot so that the shape of the powder spray pattern can be controlled. The powder coating guns can be mounted in an adjustable housing and/or adjustably mounted in an unadjustable housing. The powder coating guns include an air purge system to clean the nozzles of coating powder.
