A card edge connector () for receiving a module () includes an elongated insulative housing () having a receiving slot () for receiving the module and at least one arm portion () positioned at one end of the insulative housing. The arm portion () has a pair of side walls () and a recess () located therebetween. Each side wall has a stopper () extending in the recess. A sets of terminals () are mounted on said insulative housing and extend into the receiving slot thereof. A latch () is adapted to be rotatably received in the recess (). The latch includes an ejecting portion () for ejecting the module out of the receiving slot, a locking portion () for locking the module into the receiving slot and a pair of projections () formed on opposite sides thereof for cooperating with the stoppers (). The projection () has a side surface () coated with a lubricant film () thereon for interfering engagement with the stopper () when the latch is rotated inwardly.

Electrical connector having an ejector for locking and ejecting a module

A card edge connector includes an elongated insulative housing, a number of electrical contacts received therein and an ejector rotatably mounted thereon. The insulative housing defines a central slot for receiving a card therein. At least one tower is formed at one end of the insulative housing and includes a pair of sidewalls. The ejector includes a main body with a kicker at a bottom end and a handle at a top end thereof. Each sidewall of the tower includes a first bar and a second bar engaging with a first protrusion disposed on the ejector thereby generating a two-segment interference between the ejector and the insulative housing.

Card edge connector with ejector

A card edge connector ( ) comprises an elongated dielectric housing ( ) having a card-receiving face ( ), a plurality of terminals, a plurality of board locks ( ), and at least one conductive wire ( ). An elongated central slot ( ) is defined in the card-receiving face generally along a longitudinal axis of the housing for receiving a card edge therein. The terminals comprise a plurality of signal terminals ( ) and power terminals ( ). The signal and power terminals are received in the housing in a predetermined pattern for electrically connecting with contact pads on the card edge. The at least one wire is received in the housing and interconnects the power terminals. The at least one wire contacts the board locks which are to be connected with power circuitry of the printed circuit board, whereby power of the printed circuit board can be transmitted to the power terminals through the board locks and the wire.
