A display circuit, and associated method, including a high-persistence display element, such as a liquid crystal display device, which visually displays sequences of informational image frames while minimizing interference between successive ones of the frames. A sequence of informational image frames are displayed upon the display element, thereby to generate a visual signal which appears to scroll across the display element. Blank image frames are interspersed between successive ones of the informational image frames to reduce thereby interference between successive ones of the informational image frames.

High-persistence display circuit and method to therefor

A cable telephony system (100) including a plurality of subscriber units (142) connected to a cable control unit (102) by a cable distribution network (106) in which the cable control unit (102) detects events associated with connections occurring in the cable telephony system. Information describing these events is placed into connection event reports and sent to a traffic analysis and planning system (116) as the events are detected by the cable control unit (102). These reports are used to manage the cable telephony system (100).

Connection event reporting in a cable telephony system

A radiotelephone system (100) includes a radiotelephone (103) having a subscription lock and a removable subscriber identification module (SIM) card (105) containing an international mobile subscriber identification (IMSI). The subscriber lock is used to restrict registration into the radiotelephone system (100) to only those radiotelephones which contain a SIM card which has an IMSI which falls within a range of valid IMSIs programmed into the radiotelephone or the user has entered a subsidy flag personal identification number (PIN) for permanently disabling the need for a valid IMSI.
