An actuator includes a drive body including a torque-transfer surface configured to receive a torque. The actuator further includes: a drivable body including an output shaft such that rotation of the drive body causes movement of the output shaft; a first bearing configured to transfer thrust forces from the output shaft in a first direction; and a second bearing configured to transfer thrust forces from the output shaft in a second direction. At least the first bearing extends in a radial dimension beyond the torque-transfer surface.

Actuator

A system for controlling a marine vessel comprises an input device for inputting an operator command, a sensor which senses and signals an engine function variable or a vessel dynamic variable, and a first structural element and a second structural element. The first structural element and the second structural element each control speed or direction of motion of the marine vessel, and the first structural element and the second structural element each affect the marine vessel dynamic variable. There is a controller which receives the operator command and the engine function variable or the vessel dynamic variable. The controller moves the first structural element and the second structural element based on the engine function variable or the vessel dynamic variable, after receiving the single operator command.

System for controlling marine vessel using single command operator

An actuator comprises a housing and a drive tube assembly disposed within the housing. The drive tube assembly includes a drive tube provided with internal threads, a piston nut provided with external threads which threadedly engage the inner threads of the drive tube, and an output shaft connected to the piston nut. A motor rotates the drive tube to cause the piston nut to reciprocate along a length of the drive tube and the output shaft to reciprocate relative to the housing. There are bearings which transmit axial loads from the drive tube to the housing and transmit radial loads from the drive tube to the housing.

Watertight electric actuator for trim tab assembly or wake gate assembly

A fluid storage and pressurizing assembly includes a storage receptacle and a pump assembly. The storage receptacle includes an inner vessel defining a cryogen space for storing a fluid at a storage pressure and a cryogenic temperature, an outer vessel surrounding the inner vessel, and an insulated space between the inner vessel and the outer vessel, and a pump assembly. The pump assembly includes a pump immersed in the cryogen space having an inlet for receiving a quantity of fluid from the cryogen space, and an outlet for delivering the fluid therefrom. The pump assembly further includes a pump drive unit for driving the immersed pump, the pump drive unit being at least partially disposed within a space defined by the storage receptacle.

An improved hose assembly for a marine vessel bulkhead comprises a hose having a first end with a first hose fitting and a second end with a second hose fitting. There is a base plate having an opening which receives the hose. The base plate is positioned on the hose between the first hose fitting and the second hose fitting. There is a bend restrictor releasably coupled to the base plate. The bend restrictor has coils which wrap around the hose. The base plate clamps onto the bend restrictor and the bend restrictor clamps onto the hose, thereby restricting relative axial and rotational movement of the hose.

Hose assembly for bulkhead of marine vessel

A fluid storage and pressurizing assembly includes a storage receptacle and a pump assembly. The storage receptacle includes an inner vessel defining a cryogen space for storing a fluid at a storage pressure and a cryogenic temperature, an outer vessel surrounding the inner vessel, and an insulated space between the inner vessel and the outer vessel, and a pump assembly. The pump assembly includes a pump having an inlet disposed within the cryogen space for receiving a quantity of the fluid from the cryogen space, and an outlet for delivering the fluid therefrom, and a pump drive unit for driving the pump, the pump drive unit being at least partially disposed within a space defined by the storage receptacle.

A combination trim tab and interceptor comprises a housing and a trim tab pivotably coupled to the housing. An interceptor blade is reciprocatingly received by the housing. A cam is coupled to the trim tab and the interceptor blade. The cam is coupled to the trim tab by a link which applies a rotary force when the trim tab pivots relative to the housing. The cam is coupled to the interceptor blade such that the interceptor blade functions as a cam follower. An actuator actuates the trim tab to pivot relative to the housing. Pivoting of the trim tab results in the cam applying a force to the interceptor blade, causing the interceptor blade to reciprocate relative to the housing. The cam may be configured so a stroke of the interceptor blade and a stroke of the actuator are non-linear. The actuator may be an electromechanical linear actuator.

An apparatus for adjusting positions of an outboard propulsion unit of a marine vessel comprises a jack plate having a jack plate actuator capable of moving the propulsion unit between raised and lowered positions and a swivel bracket having a swivel bracket actuator capable of pivoting the propulsion unit between raised and lowered trim positions. There is a control system operatively connected to the jack plate actuator and the swivel bracket actuator. The control system includes a first manual control which incrementally moves the jack plate an incremental amount each time the first manual control is actuated and a second manual control which incrementally pivots the swivel bracket an incremental amount each time the second manual control is actuated. Movement of the propulsion unit within a tilt range may be detected and the jack plate may be moved to a preset position.

Adjustable jack plate and trim and tilt system for a marine vessel

The present invention relates to a removable tile spacer for enabling even spacing between a first tile and a second tile that are perpendicular to each other. The second tile has an end opposite the first tile. The removable tile spacer includes a first elongate member interposable between the first tile and the end of the second tile to provide spacing between the first tile and the second tile. The tile spacer includes a body. The first elongate member is connected to and extends away from the body at an angle relative to the body such that the body has at least a portion which is spaced-apart from both the first tile and the second tile when the first elongate member is interposed between the first tile and the end of the second tile. This thereby facilitates removal of the tile spacer when tile spacing is completed.

A hydraulic cylinder unit comprises a cylinder, a piston disposed within the cylinder, and piston rod connected to the piston. The piston rod is reciprocatingly received within the cylinder, and the piston rod being movable between a first position in which the piston rod is substantially disposed within the cylinder and a second position in which the piston rod is fully extended outside the cylinder. A first hydraulic port and a second hydraulic port hydraulically connecting the cylinder unit to a reservoir. Hydraulic fluid is received by the first hydraulic port and hydraulic fluid is discharged by the second port when the piston rod is actuated to move towards the first position. Hydraulic fluid is received by the second hydraulic port and hydraulic fluid is discharged by the first hydraulic port when the piston rod is actuated to move towards the second position. A bore connects the tilt cylinder to a down gallery allowing hydraulic fluid within the cylinder to re-circulate to the reservoir when the piston rod is fully extended outside the cylinder.

Means for providing up-relief to a hydraulic cylinder unit

A combination check valve and relief valve has a valve body with an inlet, an outlet, and a valve chamber operatively interposed between the inlet and outlet. A check valve may be integrated with the relief valve and therefore simplify a hydraulic system. The valve includes a relief valve member which is within the valve chamber. The valve also includes a resilient member with a first end and a second end. The first end of the resilient member operatively engages the relief valve member. The valve includes a setting member pressure-fit within the valve chamber to operatively engage the second end of the resilient member. The resilient member is resiliently biased between the setting member and the relief valve member to bias the relief valve member against a relief valve seat, whereby, when pressurized fluid communicates with the inlet, the resilient member is compressed, and the relief valve member disengages its seat to enable the fluid to pass through to the outlet.

Combined relief valve and check valve

A tile spacer for a plurality of tiles arranged on the surface with spaces in between. The tile spacer has a first set of elongate members, each having a proximal end and a distal end. The proximal ends are connected together and the distal ends are spaced-apart for setting the spaces between the tiles. The spacer has a body having a portion which is spaced-apart above the tiles when the distal ends of the members are fitted within the spaces between the tiles, thereby facilitating removal of the spacer when tile spacing is completed.

A trim and tilt system for use with an outboard propulsion unit on a marine craft having a transom. The trim and tilt system comprises a stern bracket configured to be mounted on the transom of the marine craft and a swivel bracket for supporting the outboard propulsion unit. The swivel bracket is pivotally supported on an upper end of the stern bracket. There is also a tilt cylinder unit that has a lower end supported by the stern bracket and an upper end in pivotal engagement with the swivel bracket. The tilt cylinder unit pivotally supports a pair of trim cylinder units. Each of the trim cylinder units is on an opposite side of the tilt cylinder unit. Each said trim cylinder unit has a longitudinal axis, a lower end in pivotal arrangement with the tilt cylinder unit and a trim rod for engagement with the swivel bracket. The swivel bracket has means for aligning the trim rods therewith, whereby the force exerted by the swivel bracket on the trim cylinder unit is substantially along the longitudinal axis. There is also means for actuating the tilt cylinder unit and the trim cylinder units.
