A method for diagnosing a differential pressure line of a differential pressure measurement arrangement includes capturing a first set number of differential pressure values, which represent a difference between a first media pressure and a second media pressure within a process, and checking whether the differential pressure measurement arrangement and/or the process are in a state that allows a diagnosis of the differential pressure line. Where it is determined that the differential pressure measurement arrangement and/or the process are not in a state that allows a diagnosis of the differential pressure line, the differential pressure values are captured anew such that the previously captured differential pressure values are deleted or overwritten. Otherwise, a diagnostic function to determine whether a differential pressure line is blocked is carried out.

Differential pressure measurement arrangement and method for identifying blocked differential pressure lines

A differential pressure measuring arrangement, comprising: a differential pressure measuring transducer; a first differential pressure line supplying the differential pressure measuring transducer with the first media pressure; a second differential pressure line supplying the differential pressure measuring transducer with the second media pressure; a temperature sensor; and a processing and evaluation unit for processing the differential pressure measurement signal and the temperature signal; wherein the processing and evaluation unit is adapted to determine a significant correlation between a change of the temperature signal and the differential pressure signal and to consider such as indication of a plugged differential pressure line and is further adapted to test whether a considered indication of a plugged differential pressure line can be verified based on additional process data, which preferably were not registered by the differential pressure measuring transducer.

Differential pressure measuring arrangement

A pressure sensor for determining a pressure measurement variable includes a housing, a pressure sensor element arranged in the housing, a lighting means arranged in the housing and a control/evaluation unit, the pressure sensor element having a semiconductor material and a measuring membrane, which has at least one integrated resistance element. When the measuring membrane experiences a pressure dependent deflection, the control/evaluation unit ascertains using the integrated resistance element, an electrical signal for determining the pressure measurement variable, wherein the lighting means optically excites the integrated resistance element, and the control/evaluation unit ascertains, based on a change of the electrical signal caused by the optical excitation, whether a malfunction of the pressure sensor is present.

Pressure sensor and method for monitoring a pressure sensor

A flow-rate measurement assembly for measuring a flow rate of a medium through a measurement pipe, comprising at least one differential-pressure producer, and comprising a differential-pressure measurement transducer for providing a differential-pressure measurement signal, which depends upon the difference between the high-pressure-side media pressure and the low-pressure-side media pressure. The difference is a measure of the flow rate of the medium. The evaluating unit is designed to determine a relationship between the differential-pressure measurement signal and a characteristic parameter of a fluctuation of the differential-pressure measurement signal, to judge the determination of a monotonically decreasing relationship between the differential-pressure measurement signal and the characteristic parameter to be an indication of a clogged high-pressure line, and to judge the determination of a monotonically increasing relationship between the differential-pressure measurement signal and the characteristic parameter, the monotonically increasing relationship of which is significantly stronger than the monotonically increasing relationship of an unclogged flow-rate measurement assembly, as an indication of a clogged low-pressure line.

Flow-rate measurement assembly according to the differential-pressure measurement principle

A pressure transducer comprising a resistive pressure sensor element with a measurement membrane which has at least four resistor elements. The resistor elements are arranged in a full-bridge circuit, having a longitudinal direction in which the full bridge circuit is to be supplied with a constant current. When being supplied with the constant current, a longitudinal voltage has a first pressure dependency and a first temperature dependency, and a diagonal voltage has a second pressure dependency and a second temperature dependency, the second pressure dependency being greater than the first pressure dependency at a given temperature. The pressure transducer has a processing circuit which is designed to determine a measured pressure value at least using the diagonal voltage and optionally the longitudinal voltage. The processing circuit is further designed to check whether a value pair of a longitudinal voltage and a diagonal voltage corresponds to an expected functional relationship at a current temperature.

A differential-pressure measuring assembly comprising a differential-pressure measuring transducer for detecting the difference between the first media pressure and a second media pressure and for providing a differential-pressure measurement signal that depends on the difference between the first media pressure and the second media pressure; a first effective-pressure line, which is connected to a first pressure inlet of the differential-pressure measuring transducer in order to apply the first media pressure to the differential-pressure measuring transducer; a second effective-pressure line, which is connected to a second pressure inlet of the differential-pressure measuring transducer in order to apply the second media pressure to the differential-pressure measuring transducer; at least one temperature sensor for outputting a temperature signal that correlates with a temperature of the effective-pressure lines; and a processing unit for processing the differential-pressure measurement signal and the temperature signal; wherein the processing unit is designed to detect a significant correlation between a change in the temperature signal and the differential-pressure signal on the basis of the differential-pressure measurement signal and the temperature signal, and to assess the detection of a significant correlation as an indication of a plugged effective-pressure line.

A relative pressure sensor for registering pressure of a medium relative to surrounding atmospheric pressure includes: a pressure measuring cell having a measuring membrane and a platform, wherein pressure of the medium can act on a first side of the measuring membrane facing away from the platform, and wherein the platform has a reference air opening, through which surrounding atmospheric pressure can act on a second side of the measuring membrane facing the platform. A support body, through which a reference air duct extends between a first surface section and a second surface section of the support body is provided, wherein the pressure measuring cell is affixed to the support body with a pressure resistant, bonded adhesive. The reference air opening communicates with the reference air duct, in order to form a reference air path to the measuring membrane, wherein the bonded adhesive surrounds the reference air path, and the relative pressure sensor further includes a shield element, which protects the bonded adhesive from direct contact with reference air.
