A brush for applying mascara or the like, comprising an elongated core and a plurality of coating surfaces axially spaced along the elongated core, distributed around the core over a substantial portion of the length of the core extending from the distal end thereof. The coating surfaces are arranged in a plurality of rows forming turns of at least one helix extending lengthwise of the core and spaced laterally around the core periphery. The axial distance between consecutive rows of coating surfaces varies longitudinally along the core.

Variable pitch mascara brush

A cosmetic applicator brush is provided comprising a brush stem and a plurality of fiber arrays extending from the brush stem. The plurality of fiber arrays comprises at least a first zone defining at least a first pitch between adjacent fiber arrays located within the first zone, and at least a second zone defining at least a second pitch between adjacent fiber arrays located within the second zone, with the at least first pitch being different to the at least second pitch. The invention further discloses a method of manufacturing a cosmetic applicator brush, the method comprising using a stem pin to retain a multiplicity of fibers, in a primary twisting step, twisting the stem pin to form a twisted stem pin with a plurality of fiber arrays extending from the twisted stem pin, fixing a first region of the twisted stem pin, such that said first region is unable to twist further, the first region defining at least a first zone of the cosmetic applicator brush, the at least first zone in turn defining at least a first pitch between adjacent fiber arrays located within the first zone, and in a secondary twisting step, twisting a second region of the twisted stem pin to define at least a second zone of the cosmetic applicator brush, the at least second zone in turn defining at least a second pitch between adjacent fiber arrays located within the second zone, with the at least first pitch being different to the at least second pitch.

An applicator dispenser has a container defining a tank with a lateral wall and a neck integral with a wiper. An applicator includes a cap having an outer shell and a threaded insert, and an axial wand fixedly attached to the insert and to an application means. The lateral wall of the tank forms at its upper part a straight skirt. The container has a closure component having an upper part forming the neck, a peripheral part engaging in a sealed way with the straight skirt, and a lower part engaging with the wiper forming a forward axial stop for the wiper. The wiper has a central part forming a swaged wiping part and a lateral part engaging with the lower part of the closure component.

Cosmetic product applicator with multiple typically oriented elements

A method for the manufacture of an applicator is described. The method is characterized in that: a) an application preform () is formed, b) at least one portion () of the preform () is transformed by machining, using a machining device () able to form in the preform () a plurality of typically transverse radial recesses () by removing material from the portion using a machining tool (), thereby forming at least one machined component () fitted with a plurality of radial elements () of an application means (), the machined component () being then, after cutting or possible lengthening, typically coupled to an axial rod ().
