A craniostat for an extraoral dental radiographic apparatus includes an upper portion connected to a lower portion by two rods. The upper portion includes a rest for a patient's forehead, wherein the rest for the patient's forehead rest has an arched shape vertically sliding in a suitable seat inside a crossbeam supported by the rods. A method of use of a craniostat according to the invention is also described.

Craniostat for acquiring extraoral dental radiographies

A craniostat for an extraoral dental radiographic apparatus includes an upper portion connected to a lower portion by rods. The upper portion includes a crossbeam and rests for a patient's temples, the rests being formed by two arches articulated with the crossbeam. The arches lean on the patient's temples, and are blocked by a control system, which, in one embodiment, is configured as oscillating levers. The blocking action is caused by shape friction generated at the time of activation via the control levers. A method of use of a craniostat is also described.

A craniostat for an extraoral dental radiographic apparatus includes a chin rest and a bite, which are optionally removable. The bite has centering surfaces of pre-defined orientation with respect to a centering position of the bite and is blocked in a blocking position by tightening the centering surfaces against tightening surfaces also having a pre-defined orientation with respect to the bite centering position, so that in tightened condition the bite is also automatically brought in correct centering position on the sagittal plane. A method of use of a craniostat is also described.

Apparatus and method for acquiring panoramic, teleradiographic and optionally CBCT volumetric dental radiographies, comprising a support holding a rotary arm which in its turn supports at one end a first X-ray source and at the other end an X-ray detector at a suitable distance for acquiring panoramic and optionally CBCT volumetric images. Apparatus and method for acquiring panoramic, teleradiographic and optionally volumetric CBCT radiographies

Method for limiting an X-ray beam, wherein the X-ray beam is limited by a limiting unit comprising a couple of blades approaching each other or moving away from each other to adjust the width of a space between the blades the two blades being driven by an actuator () linked to both blades. The position of a symmetry axis (S) of the space between the blades is set in a shifting step by changing the distance between the blades and by impeding the motion of one blade in comparison with the motion of the other blade resulting in an asymmetric motion of the blades with respect to an initial position of the symmetry axis (S). The desired width (W) of the space between the blades is set in an adjustment step by an unimpeded symmetric motion of the blades with respect to the position of the symmetry axis (S) set in the shifting step.
