The present disclosure relates to a directed electric vehicle charging system for generating revenue and methods thereof. More particularly, this disclosure describes a telematics service provider that maintains relationships with charging stations and their associated stores such that revenue may be realized by directing vehicles to those charging stations. In an illustrative embodiment, the telematics service provider may receive a charge event from a vehicle and in turn, the provider provides an appropriate charging station to that vehicle. An amount spent at the charging station including its associated stores are tracked when the vehicle charges at the charging station. After completing the charging and the vehicle leaves the area, the amount spent is tallied and provided to the telematics service provider. A portion of the amount spent may then be sent to the telematics service provider for the recommended charging station.

Directed electric vehicle charging system for generating revenue and methods thereof

Systems and methods for a multi-vehicle charging station are provided. In one embodiment, a method includes identifying a charging station configured to provide a host vehicle a charge according a host vehicle charging schedule. The method also includes identifying a proximate vehicle based on a charging distance between the proximate vehicle from the charging station. The method further includes transmitting a cooperation request to the proximate vehicle. The method yet further includes receiving a proximate vehicle charging schedule from the proximate vehicle. The method includes generating a cooperative charging schedule based on a comparison of the host vehicle charging schedule and the proximate vehicle charging schedule. The method also includes transmitting the cooperative charging schedule to the charging station.

Systems and methods for user negotiation at a multi-vehicle charging station

Systems and methods for dynamic charger reservations are provided. In one embodiment, a method includes identifying an initial reservation for an electric vehicle to receive a charge from a charging entity at a first place at a first time. The method also includes calculating an estimated time of arrival and an arrival state of charge of at a reservation time. The method further includes detecting a grid event that changes the first cost for the charging entity. The method yet further includes generating a revised reservation for the electric vehicle. The method includes generating an initial compensation offer based on the estimated time of arrival and the arrival state of charge. The method also includes providing the revised reservation and the initial compensation offer to a user. The method further includes updating the initial reservation to the revised reservation in response to receiving a confirmation from the user.

Systems and methods for dynamic charger reservations

Systems and methods for selecting a charging entity based on occupancy status are provided. In one embodiment, a method includes determining a current geo-location and state of charge of a requesting vehicle and a plurality of charging entities that are within a remaining distance of the requesting vehicle. Occupancy statuses for one or more charging entities of the plurality of charging entities are determined based on a number charging vehicles and a charging parameter. The method includes estimating charging speeds for the one or more charging entities based on the occupancy statuses. A charging station map user interface that pin points the current geo-location of the requesting vehicle and the one or more charging entities is presented. The one or more charging entities are presented with labels. The method further includes reserving a charging station of a selected charging entity of the plurality of charging entities by selecting a label.

Systems and methods for selecting a charging entity based on occupancy status

Systems and methods for flexible charger reservations are provided. In one embodiment, a method includes providing, from a charging entity, a user a flexible charger option for charging an electric vehicle at a first place at a first time. The flexible charger option is associated with a flexible charger compensation offer including a user benefit. The method includes generating an initial reservation for the user at the first place and the first time. The initial reservation is associated with a first cost for the charging entity. The method includes providing the user with the user benefit in response to the user selecting the flexible charger option. The method includes detecting a grid event that changes the first cost for the charging entity. The method includes generating a revised reservation for the electric vehicle associated with a second cost for the charging entity that is less than the first cost.

Systems and methods for flexible charger reservations

A system and method for presenting electric vehicle charging options based on a predicted charging speed. According to one aspect, a method includes determining a current geo-location of an electric vehicle and determining a current state of charge of a battery. The method also includes identifying a plurality of charging stations that are within a remaining distance that the electric vehicle is capable of traveling based on the current geo-location of the electric vehicle and the current state of charge of the battery. The method further includes receiving one or more charge parameters. The method yet further includes calculating predicted charging speeds. The method includes calculating charging information. The method also includes presenting a charging station map user interface. The method further includes displaying the calculated charging information on the charging station map user interface. The charging stations are presented with labels based on the charging information.

System and method for presenting electric vehicle charging options based on a predicted charging speed

The present disclosure relates to an electric vehicle and more particularly, to a system for reducing charging time of the electric vehicle when an occupant decides to wait in their vehicle while their vehicle is charging. In one illustrative embodiment, a vehicle system within the electric vehicle may determine whether the electric vehicle is charging. The vehicle system may then determine whether an occupant is within the electric vehicle. This may be performed through a number of systems such as an in-vehicle camera or seat sensor. At least one function may be reduced or removed when an occupant has been detected thus making their stay uncomfortable. Sound, for example, may be reduced while the occupant is detected in the vehicle and the vehicle is charging. Similarly, heating, ventilation, and air conditioning functions may be removed.

Function reducing system within an electric vehicle to preserve power consumption and methods thereof

A system and method for presenting electric vehicle charging options that include determining a current geo-location of an electric vehicle and determining a current state of charge of a battery of the electric vehicle. The system and method also include determining at least one charging station that is within a remaining distance that the electric vehicle is capable of traveling based on the current geo-location of the electric vehicle and the current state of charge of the battery of the electric vehicle. A system and method for locking a charging port to charge an electric vehicle that includes determining that the electric vehicle is located within a predetermined distance of a charging station and determining when the charging port of an electric vehicle supply equipment of the charging station is attached to the electric vehicle to actively charge the electric vehicle. The system and method also include determining if the charging station accesses a parking citation associated with parking of the electric vehicle if the electric vehicle is not attached to the charging port. The system and method additionally include locking the charging port to the electric vehicle to disallow decoupling of the charging port from the electric vehicle by an unauthorized individual to avoid the parking citation.

A system and method for adjusting an electric vehicle charging speed that include determining that an electric vehicle arrives at a charging station and determining a plurality of pricing schemes that are respectively associated with a plurality of charging speed tiers that pertain to respective charging speeds to charge the electric vehicle by the charging station. The system and method also include presenting a pricing scheme user interface that enables an operator of the electric vehicle to select a desired state of charge to charge a battery of the electric vehicle. Systems and methods for policing charging behavior are provided. In one embodiment, a method includes an identification process such that a first iteration of the identification process includes identifying a first vehicle as a currently charging vehicle receiving a charge from a charging station during a current charging session. In a second iteration of the identification process includes identifying a second vehicle as the currently charging vehicle during the current charging session. The method further includes determining a difference between the first vehicle and the second vehicle.
