A method for inputting pin blocks to a network can include receiving a first pin from a key pad with an encryption module, which is then encrypted to a first pin block with a network encryption key and transmitted to a first computing device that inputs the first pin block to a secure network. The encryption module can also receive a second pin block from a second computing device that is physically separate from the key pad. Prior to receiving the second pin block, the encryption module can transmit a certificate and a second certificate to the second computing device. The encryption module can decrypt the second pin block to a second pin and encrypt the second pin to a third pin block with the network encryption key, for inputting the third pin block to the secure network.

In an example embodiment, there is described in here a method for pre-staging transactions that permit a banking customer to either transfer money to a third party or to themselves. In particular embodiments, a token is generated that can be used multiple times by the recipient.

Token based transactions

A financial transaction computing system can include an ATM and a prestaging module. The ATM can have one or more processors, a first transceiver, one or more cash cassettes, a slot exposed on an exterior of the ATM and communicating with the one or more cash cassettes, and a banknote dispensing module at least configured to move banknotes from the one or more cash cassettes to the slot. The pre-staging module can have one or more processors, a first memory, and a second transceiver. The pre-staging module can also be configured to communicate with the ATM over a wireless public network to receive a token from the ATM over the wireless public network. The pre-staging module can be configured to retrieve a pre-staged transaction from the first memory in response to receiving the token from the ATM.

System and method for financial transactions

A modular ATM can include a cabinet module and a head module. The cabinet module can include an outer housing, a chest positioned in the outer housing to store notes of value, a transport mechanism to move the notes of value out of the chest, a base receiving section, and a first electrical connector forming an electrical connection to the transport mechanism. The head module can be removably engageable with the cabinet module and include a computing device, at least one user-interface device controlled by the computing device, a main structure supporting the at least one user-interface device and the computing device, a rear shroud connected to the main structure, a base supporting the main structure and the rear shroud, and a second electrical connector mounted in the base and forming an electrical connection to the computing device.

Modular automated transaction machine

An automated transaction machine can include a user-interface device, a computing device, a battery, a head portion, a first socket-half, a first electrical rail, and a relay. The a user-interface device can be configured to receive an input from a user and transmit the input. The computing device can receive the input. The battery can selectively direct electric power to the user-interface device and the computing device, which can all be housed in the head portion. The first socket-half can be exposed on an outside surface of the head portion and direct power to the user-interface device, the computing device, and the battery. The relay can be arranged to connect the battery and the first electrical rail in a first configuration and be switched between the first configuration and the second configuration by an output signal of the first socket-half.

Disclosed herein is a method where a consumer employs a device associated with the user to scans tags associated with items for purchase. The consumer can pay for the items using the device associated with the user. A point of sale ('POS') terminal or other such device associated with the merchant scans tags associated with items associated with the user and reconciles the items scanned by the device associated with the user with the items scanned by the device associated with the merchant.

Mobile cart reconciliation

A system provides for a self-checkout terminal with various components. A receiver receives shopping data including prices of items that a customer has physically acquired or placed in a cart. A payment logic receives credential information associated with a monetary account for paying for the items. A message logic creates checkout data that includes data representing the collection of purchase items. A transmitter transmits the credential information to an account network for authentication and the receiver receives a response indicating if the monetary account is valid. The payment logic/self-checkout terminal indicates to the customer that a payment using the monetary account for the purchase items is authorized or not. When authorized, an authorization is received at the self-checkout terminal before the customer arrives at the terminal and the self-checkout terminal causes a payment transaction to be executed to provide for self-checkout using the monetary account without assistance by another person.
