An electric instrument music control device is provided having a foot pedal comprising a base portion and a treadle, wherein the treadle moves with respect to the base portion. The device further has a magnetic displacement sensor coupled to the base portion and a magnet coupled to the treadle. The magnet is located adjacent the magnetic displacement sensor to place the sensor in a field-saturated mode, wherein the magnet moves with respect to the magnetic displacement sensor in response to movement of the treadle with respect to the base portion. A sound characteristic of the electric instrument is modified in response to moving the magnet with respect to the magnetic displacement sensor.

An electric instrument music control device is provided having a foot pedal. The foot pedal includes a base portion and a treadle, wherein the treadle moves with respect to the base portion. The device further has a magnetic displacement sensor coupled to the base portion and a magnet coupled to the treadle. The magnet is located adjacent the magnetic displacement sensor to place the sensor in a field-saturated mode, wherein the magnet moves with respect to the magnetic displacement sensor in response to movement of the treadle with respect to the base portion. A sound characteristic of the electric instrument is modified in response to moving the magnet with respect to the magnetic displacement sensor.

An electric instrument music control device is provided having at least two multi-axis position sensors. One sensor is a reference multi-axis position sensor having at least one axis held in a fixed position. Another sensor is a moveable multi-axis position sensor rotatable about at least one axis corresponding to the at least one axis of the reference multi-axis position sensor. The electric music control device also includes a processor in communication with both the reference multi-axis position sensor and the moveable multi-axis position sensor. The processor calculates an angular difference in response to receiving the angular position of the at least one axis of the reference multi-axis position sensor and the angular position of the at least one axis of the moveable multi-axis position sensor. The angular difference correlates to a music effect of an electric instrument.

Electric instrument music control device with multi-axis position sensors

A system and method for detecting when a satellite is within range of a small, battery-operated, portable transmitter so as to activate the transmitter only when the satellite is within range of the transmitter. The electronic system utilizes a sensitive radio-frequency receiver which can be tuned to receive a unique down-link signal from the orbiting satellite. The signal is amplified and demodulated and then input to a microprocessor. Information is stored in the memory of the microprocessor which identifies the unique down-link signal. The microprocessor compares the demodulated signal with the stored signal and if the two match, the earth-based transmitter is turned on and allowed to transmit for an interval of time. The microprocessor is maintained in a normally 'full-stop' mode wherein power to the microprocessor is essentially turned off, and the microprocessor is periodically switched on so that it can check for the presence of the uniquely identifiable down-link signal which triggers transmission.

A receiver system includes means for electromagnetically coupling audio bandwidth information signals from an induction loop to a miniature induction receiver/transducer. The induction loop is shaped to be worn around the neck of a wearer. The receiver/transducer is physically shaped for placement in the mouth of the wearer. In response to the varying magnetic induction field generated by the induction loop, the audio bandwidth information signals are amplified by the receiver and converted into substantially linear mechanical movement by the transducer. The output of the transducer is propagated mechanically, directly to the inner ear mechanism, via the teeth and gums of the wearer whereby the wearer perceives the message content of the audio bandwidth information signals without the use of conventional outer ear mechanism.
