An inserter for placing a T-shaped intrauterine device inside a patient's uterus and a T-shaped intrauterine device are disclosed. The inserter includes a sleeve part and a plunger part, the sleeve part includes a tube and a first engaging member and the plunger part includes a rod, a handle attached to the rod and a second engaging member. The first and the second engaging members are configured for reversibly engaging the sleeve part and the plunger part to temporarily lock the relative position between the tube and the rod. The T-shaped intrauterine device includes a pair of wings having a relaxed extended configuration and a contracted folded configuration and an elongated contraceptive body suspended from a junction between the wings.

The invention is directed to a mobile hand held miniature laboratory system in general, and to fluid testing apparatus for performing a parameter measurement in a fluid sample and methods of use in particular. The apparatus comprising: a strip adapted to absorb a fluid sample and to produce a signal indicative of the parameter level in the sample; and adaptor adapted to connect the strip to a smart phone to allow delivery of the produced signal or a correlated signal to the smart phone for obtaining a measurement of the fluid parameter displayed on the smart phone, wherein the testing apparatus relies on the smart phone at least for power supply and display device. The fluid may be a physiological fluid such as blood, urine, saliva or amniotic fluid, or a non-physiological fluid such as fluid obtained from industrial pools for fish or algae growth, or entertainment swimming pools.

Fluid testing apparatus and methods of use

The present invention provides a portable device and method for enhancing blood flow in a limb and for reducing the risk of Deep Vein Thrombosis (DVT) formation by applying periodic squeezing forces on a limb, in particular a lower limb. The device comprises a flask-like casing box and a strap connected to opposite sides of said casing such as to form a closed loop around the limb. Said box contains machinery for actuating periodical change in the circumference of said closed loop between a contracted and a relaxed positions.
