The present technology discloses methods and systems for receiving a security profile request from an integrity verifier, the request including a nonce; requesting, from a trusted platform module, a new nonce, wherein the new nonce is generated at least in part by the nonce and a current timestamp from a clock in the trusted platform module; receiving, from the trusted platform module, the new nonce; requesting, from a cryptoprocessor, a set of platform configuration registers; receiving, from the cryptoprocessor, the set of platform configuration registers; and sending a response to the integrity verifier, the response including the new nonce and the set of platform configuration registers to verify a security status of the trusted platform module and the cryptoprocessor.

A method is provided for invoking call features to be executed in a session initiation protocol (SIP) environment, the method comprising: receiving a signal indicating a feature activation; and inserting a call information header into a SIP message, the call information header comprising a parameter that identifies the activated feature. Alternatively or additionally, a method is provided for controlling a user interface coupled to an endpoint in a SIP environment, the method comprising: receiving a SIP message comprising a user interface parameter carried in a call information header; and modifying the user interface to reflect the value of the user interface parameter. In yet another alternative, a method is provided for communicating user interface information to an endpoint in a SIP environment, comprising: creating a SIP message comprising a user interface parameter in a call information header; and transmitting the SIP message to the endpoint.

System and method for communicating call information in a sessions initiation protocol (SIP) environment

A remote call control method is provided, the method comprising exchanging a session initiation protocol message, wherein the message indicates a call control request is associated with the message; identifying a resource associated with the call control request, wherein the resource includes one or more parameters of the call control request; and performing a call control operation according to the parameters of the call control request. A communication platform and endpoint are provided for executing a call control operation according to a call control request. The communication platform and endpoint comprise a processor component operable to exchange a session initiation protocol message, identify a resource associated with the call control request, and execute a call control operation according to the parameters of the call control request. The message indicates a call control request is associated with the message, and the resource includes parameters associated with the call control request.

System and method for remote call control

A method for establishing a communication session between two endpoints that do not both support secure media includes receiving a registration from a first endpoint. The registration indicating the first endpoint supports secure media and non-secure media. The method also includes receiving a registration from a second endpoint. The registration indicating the second endpoint supports non-secure media. The method also includes receiving a request to establish a communication session between the first endpoint and the second endpoint using secure media. The method further includes establishing the communication session between the first endpoint and the second endpoint via the communications platform using non-secure media.

According to an embodiment of the present invention, an apparatus for addressing compatibility in a session protocol environment is provided that includes a communications platform operable to communicate with a first endpoint and a second endpoint and to recognize signaling capabilities of the first and second endpoints. The apparatus also includes a media termination point (MTP) operable to communicate with the endpoints and the communications platform, the media termination point being provisioned by the communications platform in a stream that involves the first and second endpoints if a signaling compatibility issue is present amongst the endpoints. If an out-of-band digit from the first endpoint is received by the communications platform, the out-of-band digit is sent to the MTP, which is operable to inject a digit associated with the second protocol into the communication session such that a mapping occurs between the digits for the first and second protocols.

System and method for providing a compatibility feature in a session initiation protocol (SIP) environment

To provide for interoperability of Session Initiation Protocol (SIP) and H.323 for Secure Realtime Transport Protocol session establishment, a transmit key is received in a first protocol from a first endpoint. The transmit key is mapped from the first protocol to a second protocol and sent in the second protocol to a second endpoint to establish a secure communication session between the first endpoint and the second endpoint.

The method may also include initiating a timer for receiving a set of capabilities from the second endpoint and establishing the communication session between the first endpoint and the second endpoint.
