A method of obtaining and analyzing ECG data from a patient or group of patients is disclosed. The ECG data is obtained from the patient at an acquisition device. Once the ECG data is obtained, the ECG data is transmitted to an analysis server that is operated by an analysis provider and is located remote from the location of the acquisition device. Along with the ECG data, acquisition parameters are transmitted to the analysis server. At the analysis server, one of a plurality of algorithms is selected to analyze the ECG data. If an abnormality is detected, the patient information is directed to a healthcare provider who can then contact the patient to schedule an appointment. Based upon the referral, a referral fee can be transferred from the healthcare provider to the analysis provider. The patient can be prompted to provide additional information and selections that dictate the level of analysis generated.

System and methods for qualification of ECG data for remote analysis

A quality control system in combination with an ECG data analysis system to analyze ECG data acquired by an ambulatory electrocardiography device via a cable having a plurality of leads connected to a subject is provided. The quality control system includes a memory having programmable instructions for execution by a processor to perform the steps of calculating a trend of a quality score in the ECG data dependent on a noise content in the ECG data; and calculating a probability that one of a hardware and the Hookup personal, each associated with collecting the ECG data from the subject, is a substantial cause of the quality score for the ECG data. The probability can be calculated based on a comparison the trend of the quality score associated with the Hookup personnel versus the trend of the quality score of the hardware employed in acquiring the ECG data.

A system and method for monitoring the health of a remotely located person is disclosed herein. The system includes at least one electronic device. The electronic device includes a first sensor a processor and a transmitter. The system also includes a remote monitoring station that receives data from at least one electronic device and produces an evaluation of the person's health.

System and method for monitoring the cognitive ability of a person

A diuretic titration system is disclosed herein. The diuretic titration system includes a server having an algorithm, a communication device operatively connected to the server, and a monitoring device operatively connected to the server. The algorithm is configured to evaluate input from the communication device and/or the monitoring device in order to provide a diuretic dosage recommendation for a remotely located patient. A corresponding method for monitoring and regulating the dosage of a diuretic medication administered to a remotely located patient is also disclosed.

Method and system for remotely administering a diuretic therapy

A system and method for the optimization of scheduling visits by a clinician to a plurality of remotely located patients. A plurality of predefined or clinician specified risk factors are combined with patient data with a home visit interval algorithm to specify a visit interval for each patient. This interval is used with a calendar with other information regarding past and future scheduled visits to determine the optimal date for the next visit to the patient by the clinician. The patient risk factors may be weighted to place more emphasis on specific factors, thus allowing for the tailoring of the system to meet the needs of an individual patient.

Remote health application for the optimization of remote site visit frequency

A data acquisition system can include an acquisition device and a receiving device. The acquisition device includes inputs that receive data from sensors connected to a subject, a wireless and/or a wired transmitter that transmits data received by the inputs, and a housing carrying at least some of the components of the acquisition device. The housing may be wearable by a patient. The acquisition device may be switchable between a tethered data transmission mode and an untethered data transmission mode. The receiving device includes a receiver that receives data transmitted by the acquisition device, and may include an output that outputs data to a host. The system may be configured to transmit data from the data acquisition device to the local monitor point-to-point. The system is particularly useful for monitoring high acuity patients that may or may not require ambulation.

Wireless subject monitoring system

A technique is provided for determining service intervals for devices, such as medical equipment. Data related to a device is collected and compared to data from a population of like devices. A service interval may be calculated based on the comparison. The data regarding the population of like devices may be raw quantitative or qualitative data or may be processed data, such as may be used to graph the reliability of the device as a function of some variable such as usage or age, i.e. a reliability curve. The data may representative of the device as a whole or one or more components of the device. Multiple service intervals may be generated for a single device by calculating a service interval for each data source, such as a component or subset of components, of the device. An optimal service interval may then be selected. In addition, the technique may be applied for selection of a service interval for more than one device.

Customized medical equipment preventative maintenance method and system

A method and apparatus for evaluating the connection between the patient monitor and the patient. The apparatus is a compliance monitoring circuit that generates a constant current output to the isolation transformer of a patient monitoring device. Changes in the impedance of the patient connection cause changes in the output voltage of the constant current generator. This voltage can be measured and compared against a reference to generate a visible or audible compliance alarm.

Compliance monitoring apparatus and method

A method and apparatus are each disclosed that are capable of providing a simplified neuromuscular transmission score utilizing multiple conventional stimulus modes. After applying a neuromuscular stimuli to a patient and measuring a neuromuscular response from the patient, a universal value is assigned to the neuromuscular response signal. The universal value is applicable to a single progressive scale that encompasses the multiple conventional stimulus mode scales. A neuromuscular transmission monitor is disclosed having at least one electrode, a transducer, and a processing unit to process the data and determine a correct stimulus mode for the neuromuscular response signal and produce a non-mode specific value applicable to the single universal scale. The technique is implemented in a computer program which may reside in the memory of either the neuromuscular transmission monitor, or a host patient monitor. In the former, the neuromuscular transmission monitor is more autonomous, and in the latter, acts more of a slave unit.
