The present invention discloses a speaker/bracket assembly. The speaker/bracket assembly comprises a speaker and a bracket for supporting the speaker thereon. The speaker defines a slide groove at a back face thereof. The bracket comprises a latching mechanism configured to be loosened to adjust and tightened to set the speaker position. The latching mechanism comprises a brake, a pair of latch hooks disposed on the brake, and a drive mechanism interposed between the pair of latch hooks. A spring is secured on the drive mechanism. The pair of latch hooks is loosened to set the speaker position and snaps into the slide groove to lock the speaker into the set position when the spring is pushed in and drawn back out the brake by the drive mechanism.

A housing for an electronic apparatus capable of being mounted in a rack by a rack ear is presented, the housing including an upper housing portion having a top and left and right sides, wherein each of the sides of the upper housing portion has an upper groove portion defined therein, the upper groove portion formed by a indentation formed in each of the sides; a lower housing portion having a bottom and left and right sides, wherein each of the sides of the lower housing portion has a lower groove portion defined therein, the lower groove portion formed by a indentation formed in each of the sides, wherein the upper housing portion and the lower housing portion cooperate to form the housing, and further wherein, when the upper housing portion and the lower housing portion are combined to form the housing, the upper groove portion and the lower groove portion combine to form a track groove shaped to receive a rack mounting ear are formed on the left and right sides of the housing.

This invention is directed a combination of a speaker base and a mounting bracket that secures a speaker enclosure to either a horizontal surface or a vertical surface. The mounting bracket may be adapted to couple to a wall and releasably to the speaker base. The speaker base may be adapted to pivotally couple to the speaker enclosure so depending on whether the speaker base is mounted onto wall or table, the speaker enclosure may be pivoted into a desired position.

This invention provides a speaker enclosure that minimizes or defuses standing waves and minimizes resonance within the operating frequency range of its transducers. To minimize standing waves, the speaker enclosure has no two surfaces that are parallel to each other thus preventing the propagation of standing waves. The interior surface of the speaker enclosure may have ribs spaced apart on any surface that is prone to resonate so that the surface is strengthened such that it resonates at a predetermined frequency that is typically outside of the operating frequency range of the transducers.

This invention provides a speaker enclosure that is configured to minimize diffractions from occurring. The speaker enclosure includes baffle that is tapered inward both in a vertical axis and a horizontal axis to provide a smooth transition for the wave fronts to propagate from the outer edge of the speaker housing to the atmosphere. Providing a smooth transition for the wave fronts minimizes the occurrence of eddy currents so that diffractions do not interfere with the quality of sound from the driver. To stabilize or control the wave fronts in the vertical axis, the baffle may be elongated in the vertical axis to sustain the wave front in that axis.

A bracket assembly system is provided to hold side and center channel speakers. The assembly system may be positioned on a base support structure such as a television or cabinet. In a typical arrangement, left and right satellite speakers are positioned such that the center of gravity is approximately aligned with the pivot axis of the side arms. In addition, additional speakers may be positioned along the support arms and the speakers may be rotated adjusting to desired speaker angles to accommodate for various room acoustics.
