A readily disassemblable cabinet for a liquid dispensing system includes a supporting frame assembly having a base plate and a shelf, and further includes readily removable front, rear, and side panels and a separately removable top support and top panel. Readily removable metal rods are provided to secure individual base, shelf and top support components to the frame assembly. Such rods permit the quick removal of the system components and thus facilitate routine maintenance of the liquid dispensing system while minimizing the number of tools required to service the unit. The upper surface of the shelf supports a readily removable reservoir and the underside of the shelf is formed with brackets for receiving cross pins which removably support a hot tank for pivotal and translational movement toward and away from a valved waterway suspended below the reservoir.

An automatic badge making machine comprises a die assembly including a first and second die set relatively movable to form a badge or button from a plurality of badge parts initially placed in one of the die sets. A motor powered drive is provided for relatively moving one of the die sets in an operating cycle comprising a plurality of successive strokes toward and away from the second die set to shape and form a badge between the facing surfaces. A protective safety shield is provided for movement between an open position exposing a work area to permit access to the die sets for loading/unloading badge parts/badges and a closed position enclosing the work area during a badge making operating cycle. The shield comprises a component of a safety system provided for preventing operation of the motor whenever the protective safety shield is out of the closed position. The badge maker also includes a circuit for automatically returning the die sets to an open position whenever excessive forces between die sets are encountered during a badge making operating cycle.

A metering mechanism for a paper towel dispenser cabinet is disclosed. The metering mechanism includes a metering gear which is rotatably driven by an operating mechanism of the dispenser cabinet. The metering gear has an axially extending cam portion which defines a radial cam surface extending continuously around the axis of the metering gear from a larger radius to a smaller radius and an abutment wall adjacent to the larger radius end of the cam portion. The metering gear also has an integral resilient finger adjacent to the abutment wall which is biased out of the plane of the metering gear. A release means is urged toward the axis of the metering gear and engages the abutment wall in a stopped position to inhibit rotation of the metering gear and thereby inhibit operation of the dispenser. The metering gear is released for rotation by moving the release means past the abutment wall until the spring finger snaps out of the plane of the metering gear to hold the release means clear of the abutment wall in a dispensing position ready to follow the cam surface. As the metering gear is rotated, the release means follows the cam surface from the larger radius to the smaller radius and eventually returns to the stopped position to once again stop the operation of the dispenser.

A lock (11) for a paper towel dispensing cabinet (10) including a latch (20) and bushing (21) arranged with the bushing extending through the door (14) of the cabinet and the latch secured to the door of the cabinet. The latch includes ramped sidewalls (24) which engage wedge structures (58) on the door and resilient retainer arms (27) which engage stops (60) on the door, to thereby hold the latch in position. The latch also includes a pair of resilient catch arms (30) that engage apertures (61) in the back of the cabinet to hold the door in a locked position. A key (22) is provided to release the catch arms so that the door of the cabinet can be opened. The latch, bushing and key can each be made of molded plastic material.

A patient sanitary care unit comprises a wash basin with opposite handles and a removable emesis basin and soap dish having handles that overlay respective wash basin handles so that all three components can be easily grasped separately or together. The emesis basin is supported by tongues that extend downwardly from its handle through slots in the wash basin handle, and a top flange that overlays a top flange of the wash basin. The soap dish is similarly mounted, but it does not have overlaying flanges and the tongues are provided with fingers that hook under the wash basin handle to provide a cantilever support.

A jack for supporting and adjusting the elevation of a trailer tongue comprises a ground support post, having either a caster wheel or foot plate at its lower end, extending downwardly through a jack mechanism housing which is bolted to the trailer tongue. The post can be raised or lowered either by means of a rotatable crank extending from the housing or, alternately, after manual release of latching means in the housing and tilting of the crank, by manually sliding the post. The post has a toothed rack affixed along one side thereof. The mechanism in the housing comprises a pivotally movable support member on which a crank-driven worm and an intermeshing worm gear are rotatably mounted. The support member is spring biased and releasably latched into an upward position wherein the worm gear engages the rack (and functions as a pinion gear) and manual rotation of the crank is necessary to move the post up or down. Upon manual release of the latch, tilting of the crank moves the support member to a downward position wherein the worm gear is disengaged from the rack, whereupon the post is free to be slid manually to a desired position.
