Disclosed is a method of encrypting a data signal for providing to an input of a radio frequency transmitter, such as modulated baseband signals in the physical layer for wireless transmission. The method comprises receiving the data signal comprising one or more first frequency components with a first phase profile in a frequency band of interest; applying a dispersive encrypting signal filter to the data signal to generate an encrypted data signal comprising the one or more frequency components with a second phase profile, wherein the second phase profile is different to the first phase profile. Decryption is achieved by applying a decrypting filter to the encrypted data signal to substantially reverse the effect of the encrypting filter and recover the first phase profile.

Encryption method

An augmented connection graph can be created based on a task to be performed by a fog computing node by augmenting a connection graph representing plurality of IoT devices and connections among them. The augmenting can include adding to the connection graph data type nodes representing types of data processed by the fog computing node and adding connections between the data type nodes and IoT devices that generate the type of data represented by the respective data type nodes. A connection can be added between each pair of the IoT devices that are not currently connected and for which a level of correlation between the pair of IoT devices at least equals a threshold value. Based on the augmented connection graph, at least one of the IoT devices to assign to the fog computing node can be determined and assigned to the fog computing node.

Coordinated device grouping in fog computing

An indicator can be received from a client device. The indicator can indicate an agreement by a user of the client device to share device resources of the client device with an entity distinct from the client device and distinct from the user of the client device. Responsive to receiving from the mobile device the indicator, and responsive to receiving a message from a sharing agent of the mobile device indicating that that no user inputs are received by the mobile device over a particular duration of time and that video content is not being streamed to the mobile device, a client access agent can access the shared resources, data to be processed by the shared device resources can be communicated to the mobile device, and a level of a quality of service provided by a communication network to the mobile device can be increased.

Increased network resources in exchange for sharing of device resources

An indicator can be received from a client device. The indicator can indicate an agreement by a user of the client device to share device resources of the client device with an entity distinct from the client device and distinct from the user of the client device. Responsive to receiving from the mobile device the indicator indicating the agreement of the user of the of the mobile device to share the device resources of the mobile device with the entity, a level of a quality of service provided by a communication network to the mobile device can be increased. The mobile device can be allowed to enter sleep mode only after a particular duration of time in which use of the device resources has been shared or when a charge level of a battery providing power to the mobile device falls below a threshold level.

An indicator can be received from a client device. The indicator can indicate an agreement by a user of the client device to share device resources of the client device with an entity distinct from the client device and distinct from the user of the client device. Responsive to receiving from the client device the indicator indicating the agreement of the user of the of the client device to share the device resources of the client device with the entity, at least one network resource provided to the client device can be increased.

A method, computer program product, and system for determining the availability of participants on a communication session is described. According to an embodiment, a method for determining a participant's availability may include receiving status information associated with a first user participating in a unified telephony call, the status information indicative of an availability of the first user. The method may also include determining an availability status for the first user based on, at least in part, the status information. The method may further include providing, by the one or more computing devices, a status indicator associated with the first user to at least a second user participating in the unified telephony call based on the availability status for the first user.

Determining the availability of participants on an electronic call

A method, computer program product, and computer system for inferring quality of unified telephony calls based on real-time bi-directional exploitation of a full reference algorithm. A client copy of an audio file may be received from a client device associated with a unified telephony call. The client copy of the audio file may be compared to a local copy of the audio file using a reference algorithm. A quality of service associated with the client device may be determined based upon, at least in part, a difference between the client copy of the audio file and the local copy of the audio file.

Inferring quality in UT calls based on real-time bi-directional exploitation of a full reference algorithm

A method, computer program product, and system for a quality-of-service history database is described. One or more characteristics of an electronic call are monitored. A current quality-of-service score is determined, based upon, at least in part, the one or more characteristics. A predicted quality-of-service score is determined based upon, at least in part, one or more of the current quality-of-service score and the one or more characteristics, wherein the predicted quality-of-service score is associated with one or more future times. A failover connection associated with the electronic call is provided. A current connection associated with the electronic call is replaced with the failover connection based upon, at least in part, one or more of the predicted quality-of-service score and a threshold quality-of-service score.

Quality of service prediction and call failover

A driver for an IEEE 802.11 wireless network node determines a metric for link quality between the node and a remote node. The nodes communicate using a handshake protocol in which the first node expects to receive an acknowledgement (ACK) of receipt of a data packet from the remote node. The driver provides a measure for: collision induced losses (pc) between the first and remote nodes; a slot being erroneously detected as busy when a successful transmission could have been made (pexp) between the first and remote nodes; and a probability of successful reception of a packet when a collision occurs (pplc) between the first and remote nodes. The measure is based on a number (A) of acknowledgements received from the remote node vis-&#xe0;-vis a number (T) of packets transmitted to the remote node. The driver can adjust one of carrier sensitivity or node transmission power based on the measure.

Method and apparatus for estimating link quality

A messaging system comprises a server which registers clients (users) and stores uploaded contact data in contacts databases. The contact databases have meta data including profile attributes indicating the subject matter profiles of the contacts. A content manager receives content items such as collateral parts and message text and stores them in content databases, also with meta data having profile attributes. When a client requests a message to be sent to a contact, the content manager automatically identifies relevant content items according to the profile attributes, and a messaging engine sends a message with a wrapper having links to these content items. When the contact responds, a response management function captures response data and instructs a build engine to build content from the identified items. The content is then sent to the contact.
