Apparatus for generation and delivery of radiation

A dispenser sequentially dispenses a plurality of containers. The dispenser includes a housing having a front, a rear, a top, a bottom, a first side and a second side, with an inlet and an outlet for the containers being disposed on its front. A passage is disposed within the housing and guides the containers from the inlet to the outlet. A receiving door is connected to the housing and is movable between a closed position covering the inlet and an open position allowing the containers to be inserted into the inlet. The receiving door includes a front face contoured to cooperate with the passage to guide the containers to a predetermined orientation upon insertion into the inlet. The passage is also canted toward one side of the housing to maintain the containers in the predetermined orientation.

A hand-held scanner has a head containing scanning components, a hilt position between the head and a handle that is sized and shaped to rest against an upper surface of a users thumb and index finger. An endcap is secured to a free end of the handle that has a circumferentially and outwardly extending bumper, which, together with the hilt, protect the scanner from impact and dropage. A trigger extending outwardly from the handle, extends a significant distance forward of the handle to provide a tactile queue for users to blindly grip the handle and position an index finger on the trigger. The handle preferably has a tubular, seamless shape to avoid irritation with a users hand when gripped. A window in the head is recessed and angled to inhibit damage and contact with foreign objects.

The present invention includes methods and apparatus for efficiently coupling an additional component to an electronic device. The invention is particularly useful in conjunction with modular electronic devices. An additional component may be mechanically and electrically coupled to a video electronic device. The added component is joined to the electronic device by a series of easy steps which include bringing the front bottom surface of the electronic device into contact with the front top surface of the added component and then rotating the rear surface of the electronic device, such that the front bottom surface of the electronic device is flush with the front top surface of the added component. The electronic device and added component include feet and receptors respectively that allow them to be easily aligned. Finally, the added component and electronic device are securely joined by a latch. Since the device and component are integral, the added device does not require a large amount of space. To avoid routing wires separately to the added component, the added component is internally electrically coupled to the original device through a card and slot mechanism. The device and component are also electromagnetically coupled so that they share common electromagnetic shielding.
