A configurable and modular probe device for electrical connections. The probe device has multiple blocks capable of inter-fitting into various layouts. Each block has four sidewalls. Two adjacent sidewalls have a protrusion and the respective opposite sidewalls have a cavity corresponding to the protrusion. The protrusion of one block can removably mate with the cavity of a neighboring block. Each block further has a central cavity extending from a top surface to a bottom surface of the block. A probe snugly fits into the central cavity.

A firearm safety system as well as a method associated with the firearm safety system capable of preventing a firearm from firing is described. By incorporating a control module into firearms, the presence by the firearm may be detected by a detecting device receiving signals sent by the control module. The detecting device may in turn transmit signals to an established signaling network, such as a mobile telephone network, which may then telecommunicate with the control module to disable the firearm and prevent it from being fired. Such a system and method may be most effective in gun-free zones, especially places such as schools and courthouses. Thus, both the system and the method may be used to reduce firearm violence.

This disclosure provides for an electrical probe, which can include a shell extending along a longitudinal axis and defining an internal cavity with an opening at a first end, where the shell can include a neck portion defined by a hollow polygonal shaft twisted about the longitudinal axis to form an internal cam surface. The electrical probe can also include a plunger slidably received in the internal cavity. The plunger can include a tip configured to extend at least partially through the opening at the first end and a cam element integrally formed with the tip and having a cross-sectional shape substantially corresponding to a cross-sectional shape of the hollow polygonal shaft, such that, when the plunger is reciprocated along the longitudinal axis of the shell, the cam element can engage with the internal cam surface of the neck portion to cause rotation of the tip.

A test contact may include a first portion having an open-ended rounded shape. The first portion may define an opening therethrough. The test contact may include a second portion having a curved structure. The first portion and the second portion may be formed integrally, and the second portion may be configured to contact a portion of a device lead.

Interconnect system

An electrical connector and method of forming the same are provided, where the method can include affixing at least one layer to a core such that the layer is isomorphic to at least a portion of on an external surface of the core, press fitting the core with the layer into a socket cavity in a socket body, and removing the core from the socket cavity while leaving at least a portion of the layer so that the layer forms a shell layer affixed to an internal surface of the socket cavity. The method can further include inserting at least one plunger and a biasing device into a shell cavity so that a tail of the plunger is slidably received in the shell cavity and the biasing device biases a tip of the plunger away from an internal surface of the shell cavity.

An apparatus for pumping fluids from a geologic formation comprising a submersible motor having a motor shaft, wherein said submersible motor is reversible and has a plurality of speed settings; a pump housing connected to said submersible motor by a motor mount, wherein said pump housing has a lubricant contained therein; and a tube connected to said pump housing having a pump barrel disposed therein, wherein said pump barrel has an upper barrel connector that is connected to a standing valve; whereby a reciprocating motion by a ball nut applies said lubricant on a ball screw, and associated method of use.

A probe array wafer includes a substrate upon which a plurality of compliant probes are mounted. Pairs of axially aligned probes may be electrically connected together to provide a pass through power connection from the test equipment to the device under test. Likewise, pairs of axially aligned probes may be electrically connected together to provide a ground connection from the test equipment to the device under test.

A spring probe having a barrel, plunger, spring and contact ring is provided in which the contact ring provides electrical contact between the plunger and the barrel. Two or more contact rings may be provided to improve the pointing accuracy of the probe.

A probe and test socket assembly wherein spring biased plunger probes of extraordinarily small diameter, such as 0.02 inch, are densely packed into a test socket for testing of integrated circuit chips. The socket is constructed in upper and lower halves with bores to receive the probes. To manufacture probes of such small diameter and to provide minimal and constant electrical resistance, the plungers and barrel of the probes are not crimped or otherwise secured together. The configuration of the socket bore walls in combination with the probe maintains the probe plunger and barrel together. The assembly is particularly useful in densely packed arrays of extremely fine diameter probes for testing densely packed test sites.

A portable shelter structure (10) of variable size consisting of an even number of individual, folding, modular units (12) which, in their folded condition, serve as shipping containers for the shelter. Rigid floor and rigid sidewall sections (22, 28) are hinged (24) along an adjacent edge allowing rotation of the sidewall section from a closed position to an upright position so that the sidewall is substantially perpendicular. Collapsible roof support beams (72) and flexible, collapsible roof covering units (14) are stored in a cavity created between the floor (22) and sidewall (28) sections when they are in their closed state. Collapsible end walls (16) having a door structure (17) therein can be stored in the modular unit cavity or in a separate vestibule packing unit (18) which attaches to the end wall as a separate closed space outside the end wall door.
