Method of stacking refrigerated shipping containers

A refrigerated storage container is provided and includes a container housing defining an interior in which cargo is storable, a condenser configured to receive air to remove heat from a refrigerant passing through the condenser, a condenser air inlet receptive of the air, a condenser air outlet configured to direct air exhausted from the condenser away from the condenser air inlet and a reefer air outlet configured to direct conditioned air exhausted from the interior toward the condenser air inlet.

Refrigerated storage container air passage

An apparatus () has a compressor (), heat rejection heat exchanger (), heat absorption heat exchanger (), and expansion-compression device (). The expansion-compression device couples the heat absorption heat exchanger to the heat rejection heat exchanger and to the compressor. The expansion-compression device comprises first (A), second (B), third (C), and fourth (D) variable volume chambers and a pivoting member. The pivoting member () is mounted for reciprocal rotation in opposite first and second directions about an initial orientation and is coupled to the chambers so that: rotation from the initial orientation in the first direction expands the first and third chambers and compresses the second and fourth chambers; and rotation from the initial orientation in the first second direction compresses the second and third chambers and expands the second and fourth chambers.

Expander system

An air temperature and humidity control device is provided including a first heat pump having a compressor, an expansion valve, a condenser, and an evaporator. The first heat pump has a refrigerant circulating there through. A humidity controller includes a first contactor fluidly coupled to the evaporator and condenser. The first contact includes at least one contact module having a porous sidewall that defines an internal space through which a hygroscopic material flows. A first air flow is in communication with the porous sidewall of the first contactor. The device also has a second heat pump including a first polishing coil. The first polishing coil is substantially aligned with and arranged generally downstream from the first contactor relative to the first air flow.

Integrated membrane dehumidification system

An evaporative cooler may include an evaporative cooler housing with a duct extending therethrough, a plurality of cooler louvers with respective porous evaporative cooler pads, and a working fluid source conduit. The cooler louvers are arranged within the duct and rotatably connected to the cooler housing along respective louver axes. The source conduit provides an evaporative cooler working fluid to the cooler pads during at least one mode of operation.

A sound attenuating heat exchanger for an internal combustion engine includes a housing, a barrier wall and a fin. The housing includes an exhaust inlet, an exhaust outlet, a coolant inlet and a coolant outlet. The exhaust inlet is connected to the exhaust outlet by an exhaust flow passage. The coolant inlet is connected to the coolant outlet by a coolant flow passage. The barrier wall fluidly separates the exhaust flow passage from the coolant flow passage. The fin extends from the barrier wall into the exhaust flow passage, and includes a resonator adapted to attenuate sound waves traveling through exhaust gas within the exhaust flow passage. The barrier wall and the fins are adapted to exchange heat energy between the exhaust gas flowing through the exhaust flow passage and coolant flowing through the coolant flow passage.

Sound attenuating heat exchanger for an internal combustion engine

A cooling device includes a heat sink body having a plurality of elongated channels that extend between respective channel inlets and outlets. A synthetic jet actuator module is adjacent to the heat sink body and includes a plurality of jet outlets adjacent to the respective channel inlets for emitting a plurality of vortices into the channels.
