The present invention discloses a device, kit and method for concurrent sampling of a fecal specimen and temperature measurement from a single rectal penetration. The device comprises an elongated, rigid, cylindrical sleeve with a partially cutaway distal end to form a scoop and a thermometer optionally inserted into a bore in the sleeve. The kit includes, in addition to the sleeve, a vial adapted to receive the sleeve therein for permitting analysis of the fecal specimen in the sampling scoop in the vial by enclosure thereof with the vial for containment of an analyzing solution in contact with the fecal specimen. The method includes inserting the sleeve into the rectum, obtaining a fecal specimen in the scoop, optionally measuring the rectal temperature, withdrawing the sleeve, securing the scoop end of the sleeve in the vial, and contacting the fecal specimen from the scoop with an analysis solution contained in the vial.

A table assembly supports a computer terminal and viewing screen, and keyboard, at a central location for optimum use by a number of users. Separate keyboard-supporting and terminal-supporting tables are independently vertically adjustable. Electrical switches on the keyboard-supporting table are actuated to effect operation of electric motors, which in turn rotate lead screws engaging nuts operatively attached to tubes supporting the tables, and thus effect reciprocation of the tables. The terminal-supporting table is pivoted about a horizontal axis so that the tilt thereof may be adjusted, and the keyboard-supporting table is slideable between detented positions to adjust the position of the keyboard with respect to the terminal and screen. At least one larger side panel, and a rear panel and other panels form the base of the assembly and allow it to be readily integrated with office furniture. Sufficient clearance is provided between all movable and stationary components so that the operator's fingers cannot be pinched.

Electric terminal table

A portable table assembly supports a terminal on the main table portion thereof, and a keyboard on the auxiliary table portion thereof. The tilt of the main table, the vertical heights of the main and auxiliary tables, and the linear distance between the main and auxiliary tables are adjustable by a user sitting in a normal position adjacent the auxiliary table. Locking casters on the bottoms of the mobile base for the table assemblies may be locked or unlocked also from the user's sitting position, and the combined center of gravity of the main and auxiliary tables overlies a central leg of the base. A handle mounted to the rear of the main table also stops the terminal from sliding off the rear of the main table, and provides for proper positioning of the cords leading to the terminal.
