An intraluminal stent made of a zig-zag or sinusoidal member defining a successive series of struts connected by apex sections and formed into a series of axially displaced hoop members wherein at least one of the hoop members has at least 5 one strut connected to a strut of an adjacent hoop. The connected struts may be connected by spot welding, continuous welding, or suturing, for example, or by a bridging member connected to each strut, and may be spaced along the length of the stent in a pattern to form a connective spine. The number of zigs of the zig-zag member in each hoop member may be varied, as can the zig length. A plurality of 10 connective spines may also be included.

Intraluminal stent

An intraluminal stent made of a zig-zag or sinusoidal member defining a successive series of struts connected by apex sections and formed into a series of axially displaced hoop members wherein at least one of the hoop members has at least one strut connected to a strut of an adjacent hoop. The connected struts may be connected by spot welding, continuous welding, or suturing, for example, or by a bridging member connected to each strut, and may be spaced along the length of the stent in a pattern to form a connective spine. The number of zigs of the zig-zag member in each hoop member may be varied, as can the zig length. A plurality of connective spines may also be included.

An endoluminal prosthetic delivery system provides a delivery sheath possessing a yield strength capable of allowing implantation of the prosthesis with increased efficiency. An endoluminal prosthesis is inserted in a body in a radially compressed condition, and expanded at an implantation site, whereby a delivery sheath or the prosthesis itself possesses a yield strength sufficient to allow radial expansion of the prosthesis. A method of implanting an endoluminal prosthesis is also herein provided.

Medical device retaining sheath and medical device delivery system employing same

A tubular intraluminal prosthesis includes a PTFE or ePTFE tubular structure such as a graft, and a tubular diametrically deformable stent circumferentially surrounding the tubular structure. The diametrically deformable stent includes a polymeric coating which allows for attachment to the tubular graft structure and enhances the biocompatibility and integrity of the composite prosthesis.

Polymer coated stent

A composite stent-graft tubular prosthesis includes an inner PTFE tubular structure, an outer PTFE tubular structure positioned about the inner PTFE tubular structure and a diametrically deformable stent interposed between the inner and outer PTFE tubular structures. The interposed stent is formed from an elongate wire helically wound with a plurality of longitudinally spaced turns into an open configuration. Each of the turns includes successive aligned upper and lower wave-like peaks. Selective ones of said upper and lower peaks are exposed exteriorly of the outer PTFE structure to render the composite prosthesis longitudinally flexible.

Mesh graft and stent for increased flexibility

An implantable composite device for regulated delivery of bioactive agents to the site of implantation includes at least two zones of distinct porosities through its cross-section. One zone is of a sufficient porosity to permit regulated transport of bioactive agents associated with the device to an area of the body in need of treatment. The bioactive agent associated with the device can be either a therapeutic or diagnostic agent. In a particular embodiment of the invention, the device includes a tubular body consisting of a first luminal layer of ePTFE having a porosity sufficient to promote cell endothelization along the luminal surface; and a second polymeric layer disposed on the first layer of a porosity permitting regulated transport of the bioactive agents.

Mesh and stent for increased flexibility

A device for sensing aneurysmal pressure in a body cavity includes a housing including at least one chamber formed therein. A first fluid is positioned in a first portion of the chamber. A second fluid is positioned in a second portion of the chamber. A compressible fluid is positioned in the second portion of the chamber. A divider is positioned between the first and second fluids. A pressure membrane is in communication with the first portion of the chamber. The aneurysmal pressure is transmitted through the membrane and the first fluid to position the divider within the chamber. A method for determining aneurysmal pressure in a body cavity includes deploying a sensing device including radiopaque substance adjacent an aneurysm. The radiopaque substance is moved within the device in response to the aneurysmal pressure. The sensing device is imaged and pressure and/or relative pressure is read directly.
