A choke assembly tensioner system for use with a tensioning system of a drilling rig to control a riser recoil event with a choke spool housing with a hydraulic tank fluid port, a spool retainer port, an actuator opening with a rotation limiting keyway and a choke spool disposed within the choke spool housing. An actuator system with a cover, electrical and directional connections is connected and retains the choke spool housing which is further retained within the choke spool housing by a retaining spool which has an orifice for hydraulic fluid. The choke spool is connected to the choke spool housing by bearing surfaces on the choke spool and the choke spool housing. The choke spool is comprised of an outer spool and a rotatable inner spool, both containing a plurality of bidirectional flow holes. The rotatable inner spool has a shaft which contains pressure neutralization holes.

Choke assembly tensioner system for a drilling rig

A riser recoil valve for use with a tensioning system of a drilling rig to control a riser recoil event with a choke spool housing with a hydraulic tank fluid port, a spool retainer port, an actuator opening with a rotation limiting keyway and a choke spool disposed within the choke spool housing. An actuator system with a cover, electrical and directional connections is connected and retains the choke spool housing which is further retained within the choke spool housing by a retaining spool which has an orifice for hydraulic fluid. The choke spool is connected to the choke spool housing by bearing surfaces on the choke spool and the choke spool housing. The choke spool is comprised of an outer spool and a rotatable inner spool, both containing a plurality of bidirectional flow holes. The rotatable inner spool has a shaft which contains pressure neutralization holes.

Riser recoil valve

One or more embodiments of a floating vessel for supporting well head surface equipment that has a deck operatively disposed on the floating vessel. The floating vessel can include a ram tensioner system positioned between the well head surface equipment and the deck. The ram tensioner system can include push up ram style tensioner system with a deck mountable frame having an upper portion and a lower portion connected by a plurality of cylinder sleeves and at least one guide post sleeve.

A ram tensioner system with a deck mountable frame having an upper portion and a lower portion connected by a plurality of cylinder sleeves and at least one guide post sleeve. A guide post engages the guide post sleeves, and an individually replaceable modular cylinder is in each cylinder sleeve along with at least one individually removable seal gland that is lubricated by a hydraulic power unit, and a slidable rod engaging each of the cylinders. The slidable rods can be attached to the tension deck with a tension ring to engage a riser and provide movable tension to the riser.

Ram tensioner system

A method for use in deep water, for dynamically connecting a fixed for floating vessel to a floating transport vessel using at least one telescoping mooring arm, and for flowing a fluid that forms a hydrocarbon vapor to the moveable floating transport vessel with offload flexible conduits that adjust to accommodate vessel motion, wave motion, current motion, and other weather motion without disengaging is disclosed herein. The method can include using telescoping mooring arms to maintain a nominal distance between the fixed or floating vessel and the transport vessel while forming an enclosed gangway. The method can include monitoring offloading and return of hydrocarbon vapor, providing quick connect/disconnect engagements to the transport vessel, and using an adjustable vapor return flexible conduit. The method can include releasing the transport vessel from the fixed for floating vessel to transport the fluid to another location.

Method for offloading a fluid that forms a hydrocarbon vapor using a soft yoke

A method for receiving dry gas and forming liquefied natural gas on a floating vessel, and offloading the liquefied natural gas using telescoping mooring arms to a floating transport vessel is disclosed herein. The method can include mooring the floating vessel to a seabed with a mooring spread, using a soft yoke to moor the transport vessel to the floating vessel, receiving a dry gas, cooling the dry gas forming a liquefied nature gas, transferring the liquefied natural gas to the transport vessel, transferring personnel and equipment over a gangway, returning hydrocarbon vapor to the floating vessel, cooling the hydrocarbon vapor, and using the hydrocarbon vapor as a fuel for the floating vessel.

Method for offshore natural gas processing using a floating station, a soft yoke, and a transport ship

A method for receiving dry natural gas, cryogenically cooling the gas, then forming liquefied natural gas is disclosed herein. The method can include flowing the liquefied natural gas to a moveable floating transport vessel. The method can include using mooring arms that maintain a nominal distance between the station and the vessel while simultaneously forming an enclosed gangway and monitoring offloading and return of hydrocarbon vapor. The method can include providing quick connect/disconnect engagements to the transport vessel and storing the liquefied natural gas on the transport vessel at a cryogenic temperature. The method can include recycling hydrocarbon vapor formed during offloading to the floating station and maintaining a cryogenic temperature using a flow rate substantially the same as the floating station uses fuel. The method can include releasing the transport vessel from the floating station to transport the liquefied natural gas to another location.

Method for processing and moving liquefied natural gas using a floating station and a soft yoke

A cylinder stroke system with a laser proximity detector including a pressure containing tube. The pressure containing tube can include a first tube end and a second tube end. A cylinder rod can be movably disposed within the pressure containing tube. The system can also include a piston disposed on the cylinder rod first end; a first fluid port formed in the pressure containing tube; a second fluid disposed within the pressure containing tube; a blind end cap and mount; a laser secured to the pressure containing tube; at least one optic guide; a lens separating the at least one optic guide from the second fluid. The cylinder stroke system can also include a camera in communication with a main controller. The camera can receive the reflection from the piston and convert the reflection into a reflection signal.

A tensioner system for an offshore drilling rig for drilling a well with recoil controls is disclosed herein. The tensioner system can include removable independently operable riser tensioner assemblies. Each removable independently operable riser tensioner assembly can include a bidirectional riser recoil valve and a hydraulic cylinder connected thereto. The hydraulic cylinder can power a rod engaged with a clevis and a blind end clevis. The clevis can engage a tension ring on a drilling riser. A fluid containment storage can be connected to the bidirectional riser recoil valve and the hydraulic cylinder, and can have a goose neck for connecting to a flexible jumper. A controller can be connected to the bidirectional riser recoil valve for regulating flow of hydraulic fluid therethrough to control a disconnect process of the drilling riser by controlled raising or lowering of the drilling riser.

Tensioner system with recoil controls

A floating natural gas processing station for receiving dry gas and forming liquefied natural gas for offloading is disclosed herein. The station can use a station heat exchanger, a natural gas liquefaction train, and an offloading device having a primary quick connect/disconnect device, a secondary emergency disconnect device, and a tertiary emergency disconnect device to allow quick connect/disconnect or emergency disconnect of the floating natural gas processing station from a transport vessel. At least two telescoping mooring arms with a boom and a jib in a nested arrangement can hold the transport vessel at a nominal distance from the floating natural gas processing station, while forming a gangway to safely move personnel and loads between the floating natural gas processing station and the transport vessel.

Floating natural gas processing station

A device for dynamically positioning a ship, assisting in offload of a processed hydrocarbon fluid, and assisting in return of hydrocarbon vapors is disclosed herein. The device can be a soft yoke that is pivotable and collapsible with at least two telescoping mooring arms having a boom and jib in a nested arrangement to safely hold floating stations to transport vessels. The boom and the jib can form a gangway to move personal and loads.

Soft yoke

A station and transport system for receiving, storing, and transporting liquefied natural gas is disclosed herein. The system can include a transport vessel, a floating liquefied natural gas processing station with a heat exchanger for receiving the dry gas from a pretreatment source and forming liquefied natural gas using a natural gas liquefaction train, a primary quick connect/disconnect device, a secondary emergency disconnect device, and a tertiary emergency disconnect device mounted to a station hull to allow quick connect/disconnect or emergency disconnect of the floating natural gas processing station from the transport vessel. The system can include a soft yoke with at least two telescoping soft yoke mooring arms, a boom, and a jib that form a gangway to safely hold the floating station to the transport vessel and to move personal and loads.

Liquefied natural gas processing and transport system

A tensioner assembly with a hydraulic fluid and gas is described herein. The tensioner assembly can accurately and reliably detect the position of a cylinder rod in each cylinder of the assembly by using a laser. The data obtained from the laser can be reliable and dependable regardless of any powders, oil, particulate, or scratched lenses of the camera.
