The present disclosure is directed to a variable area turbine nozzle. The variable area turbine nozzle includes a first vane segment, a second vane segment arranged with the first vane segment, and a trailing edge segment arranged with the first and second vane segments. The vane also includes a first actuating system for pivoting the second vane segment with respect to the first vane segment and a second actuating system for pivoting the trailing edge with respect to the first and second vane segments.

Modulated hybrid variable area turbine nozzle for gas turbine engine

A spline connection is provided between a first part and a second part wherein a first set of internal splines is formed on an inner cylindrical surface of the first part and a second set of internal splines is formed on an inner cylindrical surface of the second part. Also included is a connector sleeve having first and second sets of external splines formed thereon. The connector sleeve is slideable between a pre-assembly position located fully within the second part and a fully assembled position in which a section of the connector sleeve is located in the first part and another section is located in the second part so that the first set of external splines engage the first set of internal splines and the second set of external spines engage the second set of internal splines.

Spline connection for limited access space and method of assembly and disassembly

An exhaust nozzle for an aircraft engine. The nozzle includes a mount for attaching the exhaust nozzle to a downstream end of the engine and first and second opposed upstream flaps moveably connected to the mount having inner surfaces defining an upstream exhaust gas flowpath. Each upstream flap extends between an upstream end and a downstream end and is moveable relative to the mount between an open position in which the downstream ends of the upstream flaps are spaced by a first distance, and a closed position in which the downstream ends touch to substantially block flow through the exhaust gas flowpath. First and second opposed downstream flaps are moveably connected to the first and second upstream flaps having inner surfaces defining a downstream exhaust gas flowpath.
