This disclosure relates to a running board for a motor vehicle, and in particular relates to a running board with a roof access step and a corresponding method of using the same. An example running board includes a deck having a first section and a second section. The first section is configured to move between a first position in which the first section is substantially flush with the second section, and a second position in which the first section is raised relative to the second section. In the second position, the first section of the deck provides a roof access step.

A scuff plate for a vehicle includes a sloped front side in physical contact with a cargo-area floor panel. The cargo-area floor panel can have a slope angle greater than zero in a downward direction and the sloped front side can have a ramp angle at least equal to the slope angle in an upward direction.

A vehicle seating assembly is provided which includes a second row center seating unit including a seatback and a seat that includes a front and a rear. A slide assembly is coupled with the rear of the seat, and the seating unit is operable between a first position wherein a seat is proximate the slide assembly and a second position wherein the seat is slid forward and rotated upward such that the seatback is proximate the slide assembly. A support surface extends over the seat and is openable to expose a storage compartment when the seating unit is in the second position. A retaining feature is disposed in the front of the seat in order to secure items extending through the vehicle over the seating unit.

A vehicle includes a step pad assembly that includes a first step pad, a second step pad, and a telescoping extension. The second step pad is rotatably attached to the first step pad. The telescoping extension is disposed within the second step pad and is configured to extend from the second step pad to an extended position outboard relative to a rear wheel.

A footrest assembly includes a body portion having an upper contact surface adapted to support a vehicle occupant's foot at a predetermined angle. The footrest assembly includes mounting members adapted to couple the footrest assembly to a base unit disposed on a vehicle floorboard. The footrest assembly includes a depression or recess adapted to receive a parking brake pedal when the parking brake is in a fully actuated position. Thus, the footrest assembly is configured to provide a footrest option in a vehicle interior that would otherwise not have the space requirements to accommodate a footrest, while also allowing for full functionality of a parking brake pedal.

A cowl trim assembly includes a panel body having an outwardly extending support base. An adjustable footrest assembly is supported on the support base between fore and aft positions. The footrest assembly includes connecting members adapted to couple the adjustable footrest assembly to the panel body at laterally extending slots disposed on the panel body. The laterally extending slots include receiving grooves incrementally spaced along the slots which are adapted to receive the connecting members of the footrest assembly in assembly. Thus, the footrest assembly is laterally adjustable relative to the panel body along the length of the slots.
