An inflatable patient support includes a top panel defining a first perimeter and a bottom panel defining a second perimeter. The second perimeter of the bottom panel is coupled to the first perimeter of the top panel. An internal wall is coupled between the top panel and the bottom panel to define a first chamber and a second chamber. The internal wall defines at least one passage therethrough that allows fluid communication between the first chamber and the second chamber. The first chamber and the second chamber are inflatable.

A transfer mattress includes a top panel; a bottom panel; an outer stringer having a superior edge coupled to the top panel and an inferior edge coupled to the bottom panel such that a portion of the outer stringer extending between the top panel and the bottom panel is at an angle other than 90 degrees with respect to the top panel and the bottom panel when the mattress body is inflated; and an inner stringer positioned between the central longitudinal axis and the outer stringer and having a superior edge coupled to the top panel and an inferior edge coupled to the bottom panel such that a portion of the inner stringer extending between the top panel and the bottom panel is at an angle other than 90 degrees with respect to the top panel and the bottom panel when the mattress body is inflated.

Inflatable mattress with longitudinally oriented stringers

A transfer mattress includes a top panel, a bottom panel, an outer stringer and an inner stringer. The top panel has a perimeter including a proximal edge and a distal edge, wherein a central longitudinal axis extends from the proximal edge to the distal edge. The bottom panel has a plurality of perforations and a perimeter including a proximal edge and a distal edge coupled to the perimeter of the top panel. The outer stringer and inner stringer each have a superior edge coupled to the top panel and an inferior edge coupled to the bottom panel and a longitudinal portion that is substantially parallel to the central longitudinal axis. The inner stringer is positioned between the central longitudinal axis and the outer stringer.

Methods and systems of patient offloading include positioning an inflatable transfer mattress in a first position with respect to a surface supporting the inflatable transfer mattress. At least one inflatable positioning wedge is positioned in a second position with respect to the surface. The inflatable transfer mattress is positioned in a third position in which a portion of the inflatable transfer mattress overlaps a portion of the at least one inflatable positioning wedge. The at least one inflatable positioning wedge is inflated to transition the portion of the inflatable transfer mattress overlapping the portion of the at least one inflatable positioning wedge to a non-zero angle with respect to the surface.

System and method for patient positioning and offloading

An inflatable transfer mattress includes a top panel, a bottom panel having a perimeter sealingly coupled to a perimeter of the top panel to define an internal volume therebetween, and a rotational positioning device coupled to the top panel. The internal volume is configured to receive an air flow therein. The rotational positioning device is positioned outside of the internal volume and includes at least one inflatable bladder configured to be inflated from a deflated state to an inflated state. The bladder portion is configured to rotate a patient to a predetermined angle with respect to the top panel in the inflated state.

Lateral transfer mattress and rotational positioning device

In one aspect, an inflatable patient handling mattress includes a mattress body, a first lateral extension, a second lateral extension, and one or more lift handles. The mattress body includes a top panel, a bottom panel, and a plenum chamber between the top panel and the bottom panel and configured to be filled with air. The first lateral extension extends from a first side of the mattress body. The second lateral extension extends from a second side of the mattress body, the second side opposite the first side. Each lift handle of the one or more lift handles is attached to one of the first lateral extension and the second lateral extension. The one or more lift handles are configured to be used to lift a patient disposed on the mattress body.

An inflatable transfer mattress includes a top panel, a bottom panel having a perimeter sealingly coupled to a perimeter of the top panel to define an internal volume therebetween, a first wedge pocket coupled to an outer surface of the top panel, and a first inflatable wedge. The internal volume is configured to receive an air flow therein. The first inflatable wedge is sized and configured to be inserted into the first wedge pocket and is configured to be transitioned from a deflated state to an inflated state. The first inflatable wedge is configured to rotate a patient to a predetermined angle with respect to the top panel in the inflated state.

Single port lateral transfer device and rotational positioning device combination

The present disclosure provides a method of positioning a patient. The patient is provided on a support surface, an inflatable positioning mattress disposed between the patient and the support surface. Air flow into the inflatable positioning mattress is initiated to inflate the inflatable positioning mattress. A downward force is applied on the inflatable positioning mattress proximate to a first side of the support surface. A portion of the inflatable positioning mattress proximate to a second side of the support surface is raised. At least one wedge is positioned beneath the inflatable positioning mattress. Subsequently, the patient is lowered onto the at least one wedge.

Method of positioning a patient

An inflatable mattress includes a top panel, a bottom panel, and a side panel coupled between a perimeter of the top panel and a perimeter of the bottom panel. The side panel defines a cutout sized and configured to receive a headrest therein. The top panel defines a fabric section extending over the cutout.

An inflatable mattress-sling having an inflatable torso support pad, a first leg extending out from a first portion of the inflatable torso support pad, and a second leg spaced from the first leg and extending out from a second portion of the inflatable torso support pad. A transfer mattress includes an upper mattress having three longitudinally oriented plenums and three separate inlet/outlet valves that are each arranged in airflow communication with their respective plenum. First and second of the plenums are arranged in airflow communication with one another while a central plenum is arranged in airflow isolation from the first plenum and the second plenum so that the first and second plenums may be inflated and deflated independently of the central plenum. A lower inflatable mattress is separated by a common wall from the upper mattress. A lower inlet/outlet valve is arranged in airflow communication with a lower plenum defined by the lower inflatable mattress. A bottom wall defines a plurality of perforations so that when the lower plenum is charged with pressurized air, it escapes under pressure through the perforations to create an air bearing under the mattress. A method for transporting a patient in comfort is also provided by the invention.
