Systems, methods, and computer-readable media for an integrated Wi-Fi Access Point and cellular network Radio Unit (RU) include a communication system interfacing with a wired network for communicating Wi-Fi traffic and cellular network traffic, the communication system integrating a Wi-Fi Access Point (AP) with a cellular network Radio Unit (RU). The Wi-Fi traffic and cellular network traffic can be processed in the communication system. The communication system can interface with at least one programmable Radio Frequency (RF) front end configured for wireless communication over one or more frequency bands for Wi-Fi traffic and one or more frequency bands for cellular network traffic (e.g., 5G, LTE, Wi-Fi).

Integration of a Wi-Fi access point with a cellular radio unit

A device includes a memory and a hardware processor communicatively coupled to the memory. The hardware processor determines that a computing device communicatively coupled to an access point performed an action with respect to the access point and in response to determining that the action causes a deviation from a multi-user uplink policy of the access point, transmits a disciplinary message to the computing device.

In one embodiment, a first wireless access point (AP) of a first basic service set (BSS) receives, from a second wireless AP of a second BSS, data indicative of an 802.11-based target wake time (TWT) schedule of a client of the second BSS. The first wireless AP identifies, from the receive data, a scheduled communication time of the client of the second BSS in the TWT schedule. The first wireless AP generates an 802.11-based TWT schedule for a client of the first BSS that avoids the scheduled communication time of the client of the second BSS. The first wireless AP sends the generated 802.11-based TWT schedule to the client of the first BSS, wherein the sent TWT schedule causes the client of the first BSS to wake from sleep at a scheduled wake time.

Bypassing radar in wide Dynamic Frequency Selection (DFS) channels utilizing puncturing may be provided. A first client device may be classified as eligible for puncturing and a second client device may be classified as not eligible for puncturing. Next, it may be determined that a subchannel in a bandwidth range should not be used. Then, in response to determining that the subchannel in the bandwidth range should not be used, the first client device may be steered to a first subset of the bandwidth range and the second client device may be steered to a second subset of the bandwidth range. The second subset of the bandwidth range may be smaller than the first subset of the bandwidth range.

Bypassing radar in wide Dynamic Frequency Selection (DFS) channels utilizing puncturing

A management entity obtains from a first wireless access point a Basic Service Set (BSS) color collision event detected by the first wireless access point. The first wireless access point uses a first BSS color. A color collision event occurs when the first wireless access point receives from a device in a BSS of a different physical wireless access point a frame or PHY Protocol Data Unit (PPDU) that includes the first BSS color. The management entity obtains from the first wireless access point an indication whether the color collision event has been detected for longer than a predetermined duration. When the color collision event has been detected for longer than the predetermined duration, the management computes a probability of the color collision event. The management entity determines whether the color collision event is malicious or benign, and determines whether to maintain the first BSS color.

Presented herein is a tone plan that can accommodate multiple bandwidth options. This tone plan may be designed around a fundamental tile, such as 20 MHz tile, that is replicated to 40 and 80 MHz (and 160 MHz and beyond). For wider bandwidths, the otherwise-unused guard tones between the 20 MHz tiles are filled by a new resource unit and DC tones. There are DC tones placed to support any client, for all defined and plausible future values of its current operating bandwidth and center frequency (i.e. any 20 MHz, any 40 MHz, any 80 MHz, 160 MHz and 80+80 MHz, 320, 160+80 etc.), as well as plausible future preamble puncturing cases.

Presented herein are methodologies for handling multicast traffic that is transmitted to mobile devices in a given basic service set (BSS). The methodology includes detecting membership of clients in an Internet Protocol (IP) multicast group in a basic service set of a wireless network; determining whether the IP multicast group and its associated multicast traffic meet predetermined criteria; when the IP multicast group and its associated multicast traffic meet the predetermined criteria, negotiating with each client in the IP multicast group to have a target wake time (TWT) that includes, at least, a coincident overlap window of sufficient duration to transmit the multicast traffic associated with the IP multicast group; and transmitting the multicast traffic associated with the IP multicast group during the coincident overlap window, wherein the coincident overlap window is different from a delivery traffic indication message (DTIM) service period.
