The disclosed technology relates to receiving an executable function from a client device, wherein the executable function is to be executed on a function as a service (FaaS) platform. Upon performing a verification and validation process on the received executable function prior to runtime, it is determined when to execute the received executable function based on based on one or more execution initiation techniques upon performing. The verified and validated executable function is executed at the runtime on the FaaS platform based on the determination.

Methods for managing verification and validation of third-party code and devices thereof

A system can apply file placement rules to dynamically place files and directories within file system views backed by objects in an object storage system. After detection of an update to a first file system view that causes an update of an object in a storage grid, an object manager begins evaluation of file placement rules against metadata of the object. For each file placement rule that is triggered, the object manager determines identifies gateways that export the first file system view. The object manager then instructs the gateways to update their representations of the first file system view. The disclosed embodiments may be able to scale to managing hundreds of billions of files spanning thousands of file system views, especially in the presence of disconnected operation.

Dynamic update to views of a file system backed by object storage

Techniques are provided for offloading the management of sensor data and generating custom views of sensor data. Sensor data received from a data network through a message is stored within storage managed by a computing device. A handle is generated to identify the sensor data. The sensor data within the message is replaced with the handle, and the message is transmitted to a device within the data network. The device may use handles of sensor data to request custom views of sensor data.

The disclosed technology relates to verifying and validating a received executable function to be executed on a function as a service platform (FaaS), by applying one or more verification and validation techniques prior to runtime. The verified and validated executable function is temporarily stored. The temporarily stored verified and validated executable function is executed on the FaaS platform at the runtime.

Methods, non-transitory machine readable media, and computing devices that accelerate storage operations are disclosed. With this technology, computational storage devices are assigned by a NIC processor of a computational network interface controller (NIC) to storage locations corresponding to respective partitions of an n-dimensional space. One of the storage locations to which a data location in the n-dimensional space maps is then identified by the NIC processor. The data location is determined based on a hash for data associated with a received storage operation. The NIC processor subsequently communicates via a system bus with a storage processor of one of the computational storage device to service the storage operation. The storage processor is coupled directly to flash media of the one of the computational storage device that is assigned to the one of the storage locations and maintains a key/value store comprising the data.

Methods for accelerating storage operations using computational network and storage components and devices thereof

Methods, non-transitory computer readable media, and devices that more effectively manage snapshots by creating a namespace including files described by stored file recipe objects and each comprising fragments, directories described by metadata in the file recipe objects and each comprising one or more of the files, and snapshots described by stored snapshot request objects. Content of one of the directories are identified based on an identification of corresponding ones of the file recipe objects that existed within the namespace at a specified time. At least one of the files, included in the identified content and existing within the namespace at the specified time, is accessed in response to one or more received requests. A garbage collection operation is periodically performed to delete the recipe objects that are marked for deletion by tombstone objects and are unreferenced by any of the snapshots as determined based on the snapshot request objects.

Methods and systems for executing code are provided. A message with executable code is received by a processor that utilizes the message to generate a key associated with a value having executable code stored at a key-value store. The processor retrieves the value from the key-value store using the generated key. The processor then merges the executable code in the received message and the executable code in the retrieved value to generate a merged value for code execution.

A method, non-transitory computer readable medium, and device that assists with managing storage in a distributed deduplication system includes receiving an object to be stored from a client computing device. The received object is divided into a plurality of fragments. A plaintext hash value and a ciphertext hash value is determined for each of the plurality of fragments, wherein each of the plurality of fragments is renamed with the corresponding determined ciphertext hash value. Each of the renamed plurality of fragments are stored in a plurality of storage repositories.

Methods for managing storage in a distributed de-duplication system and devices thereof

A data management services architecture includes architectural components that run in both a storage and compute domains. The architectural components redirect storage requests from the storage domain to the compute domain, manage resources allocated from the compute domain, ensure compliance with a policy that governs resource consumption, deploy program code for data management services, dispatch service requests to deployed services, and monitor deployed services. The architectural components also include a service map to locate program code for data management services, and service instance information for monitoring deployed services and dispatching requests to deployed services. Since deployed services can be stateless or stateful, the services architecture also includes state data for the stateful services, with supporting resources that can expand or contract based on policy and/or service demand. The architectural components also include containers for the deployed services.

Extensible and elastic data management services engine external to a storage domain

Methods and systems for a networked computing system are provided. One method includes detecting that a processor executable, policy decision point (PDP) has not responded to a request for accessing data associated with a storage system; predicting a response to the request using a machine-learned, request-response association maintained by a processor executable training device; and presenting the predicted response to a processor executable, policy enforcement point (PEP) for granting access to the data and denying access to the data, based on the predicted response.

Policy decision offload accelerator and associated methods thereof

A rebuild node of a storage system can assess risk of the storage system not being able to provide a data object. The rebuild node(s) uses information about data object fragments to determine health of a data object, which relates to the risk assessment. The rebuild node obtains object fragment information from nodes throughout the storage system. With the object fragment information, the rebuild node(s) can assess object risk based, at least in part, on the object fragments indicated as existing by the nodes. To assess object risk, the rebuild node(s) treats absent object fragments (i.e., those for which an indication was not received) as lost. When too many object fragments are lost, an object cannot be rebuilt. The erasure coding technique dictates the threshold number of fragments for rebuilding an object. The risk assessment per object influences rebuild of the objects.
