In particular, the compounds of the invention modulate the function of PPAR&#x3b3; or PPAR&#x3b4;. The subject methods are particularly useful in the treatment and/or prevention of diabetes, obesity, hypercholesterolemia, rheumatoid arthritis and atherosclerosis.
