A surgical stapling device includes a visualization device that extends through a body of the stapling device to facilitate visualization of tissue that surrounds an end effector of the stapling device. An anvil assembly of the surgical stapling device is adapted to facilitate passage of the visualization device through the anvil assembly.

A trans-anastomotic insertion device includes a body having a distal portion, a proximal portion, and a central portion. The distal portion has a blunt distal end, a width that decreases from its distal end to its proximal end, and longitudinal ribs that provide rigidity to the distal portion. The central portion has a circular configuration and includes a proximally facing surface that includes protrusions that are positioned to be received within staple pockets of a reload assembly of a stapling device. The proximal portion includes a central post that includes splines that are received between splines on a shell housing of a stapling device. The configuration of the insertion device provides added strength to the insertion device to resist high torsional forces that may be applied to the insertion device during insertion of a surgical device through an incision into a body cavity.

A surgical stapling device includes a reload assembly that includes a dual-detent system to retain a knife carrier of the reload assembly in a retracted position after the stapling device is fired. The dual detent system includes auxiliary and primary detents to improve the retention force of the knife carrier to minimize the likelihood of inadvertent readvancement of the knife carrier and annular knife.

A surgical stapling device includes a handle assembly, an adapter assembly, and a reload assembly that is releasably secured to the adapter assembly to facilitate replacement of the reload assembly after each use of the stapling device. The reload assembly includes an authentication chip and printed circuit board assembly that is constructed to provide electrical contacts that are self-supporting to allow for automated assembly of the electrical contacts and provide a more reliable, robust electrical connection between the electrical contacts and the chip.

The second channel includes a first section () having the first diameter, a second section () having the second diameter, a first step () between the first and second sections, and a second step () between the second section and an end () of the second channel. The first and second channels are formed during injection molding by pins () having flat pin-on-pin geometry to reduce resin flash within the channels.

A detector to measure composition of a flow of gas from a respiratory circuit. The detector includes a housing and a removable flow path element. The removable flow path element includes an inlet, a sampling chamber, a pump section including a membrane and an actuator interface, and an outlet. A flow path element dock is formed by the housing with the flow path element dock to removably engage the removable flow path element. A radiation source within the housing emits radiation into a sampling chamber of the removable flow path element while the removable flow path element is docked in the flow path element dock. A sensor is housed within the housing. A pump actuator and controller are within the housing to drive the pump to maintain the flow rate of the flow of breathable gas through an enclosed flow path.

A removable water trap device () removes moisture from a respiratory gas stream from a patient interface assembly (), enabling monitoring of gas within the respiratory gas stream by an analysis bench (). The device includes a housing (), an upstream water trap connector (), and a filter assembly (). The housing includes a first portion () insertably attachable to a tether assembly receptacle () to connect the device to the analysis bench for delivering the gas stream via a tether line (). The upstream water trap connector is attachable to a downstream patient interface connector () in a sample flow line () of the patent interface assembly for receiving the gas stream via the sample flow line. The filter assembly is insertably contained within the housing and configured to remove moisture from the gas stream, the filter assembly including a downstream water trap connector () attachable with the tether line within the tether assembly receptacle. The filter assembly is replaceable independently of replacement of the patient interface assembly.
